从小学刚升上初一的学生,形象思维比较发达,而直观教学的方法正是符合初一学生的思维特点,教师切忌单调呆板的教法,所以用实物、彩图卡片、简笔画或立体投影等教学手段可加强教学的直观性。在教学中可这样让学生掌握有关人体部位的词汇:初次呈现时利用一个洋娃娃,边指着洋娃娃身体的各个部位,边教学生如何准确读出各个部位的名称,如head(头)、hair(头发)等。接着,任意指着洋娃娃的一个部位,让学生能即时作出反应,并准确无误地把单词读出来。最后,让学生从自身的感受来学习“head(头)、hair(头发)、nose(鼻子)、hand(手)等部位名称的词汇。教师发命令,学生做动作:
T: Touch your head (hair…).
这样,教师就将词的音、形、义全过程教学完成,既生动形象,又情趣盎然,较容易为初一学生所接受。

词汇教学是培养学生语言能力的基础。英语词汇的扩大对于英语习得具有重要意义。如何让学生掌握一定数量的词汇,是小学英语教学的重要任务之一。
词汇是语言的三大要素之一,语言不可能离开词汇,任何语言离开了词汇就不可能存在。词汇是语言的基本材料,要想学好英语这门课程,必须要掌握足够数量的英语词汇。英语教学的各项任务,无论是语音、语法、句型等语言知识的教学,还是听、读、说、写语言能力的培养,都与词汇教学有着密切的联系。因此,掌握足够数量的词汇是学好英语的关键。如何让学生掌握一定数量的词汇,是初中英语教学的重要任务之一。词汇量是制约英语学习效率的重要因素,词汇教学是实践英语教学的一个重点,也是一个难点。《英语课程标准》所提的“任务型”教学途径以培养学生学习兴趣为出发点,以交际为目的,以任务为基础,充分体现学生的主体性和语言的交际本质,强化语言交际运用的过程。以任务为中心的教学思路,把培养学生主动参与的意识和探究发展以及语言交际能力作为一个重要目标。学生在教师设计的教学活动中,通过参与、体验、思考、讨论、交流、合作等方式完成学习任务。
英语词汇具有数量大、变化多、规律性不强的特点,造成了初中学生学习英语词汇的种种困难。长期的英语教学实践证明,要想提高教学效果,必须将科学理论与实践相结合,始终将词汇教学作为重点来抓,采用灵活多样的教学方法,帮助学生克服种种困难,扎扎实实学好词汇,为基础阶段英语学习创造成功的条件。词汇教学一般采用以下几种方式进行:
一、音形义结合,综合记忆单词
学习单词的第一步是记忆单词。单词有音、形、义三个方面,音指单词的读音;形指单词的书写形式;义就是单词的词义。记忆单词时,要同时记住单词的读音、拼写和词义,使三者之间建立起牢固的联系,才能记得牢固,避免遗忘。由于初中阶段所学英语单词绝大多数都是词义具体、常见常用的词汇,学生感到熟悉,所以有利于音、形、义结合,将语言形象和词义结合起来。将读音与拼写结合起来。例如:教单词park时采用了以下步骤:
1.教师出示公园彩色图画,并用英语介绍:Look at this picture,please!What is it?It is a park. Park—park—park. Yes, it is a park. Now,read after me:park—park—park.Is this a park? Yes,it is.It's a park.
2.将单词park置于语流之中继续领读:Now, read after me, please:a park a park.This is a park—This is a park.It's a park.—It's a park.Is this a park?Yes,it is.It's a park.
3.利用读音规则引出park的拼写形式:|a:|→ar;|a:k|→ark; |pa:k|→park; 要求学生书写巩固。
以上是利用挂图进行音、形、义结合的有效教学。教会了单词的语音,建立起视觉形象和声音形象的联系,在会读并知其义之后,根据读音规则引导出单词的拼写形式,使学生认识到英语是拼音文字,发音与拼写之间是有联系、有规律可循的,正确的单词读音有助于记忆其拼写形式,加强记忆效果。这样音、形、义结合教单词,使学生综合地记忆单词。
二、及时巩固,反复再现,不断强化
学过的单词如果得不到及时的巩固,不久就会被遗忘,生词学得快,也忘的快,这是初中学生学习生词的规律特点,所以教师必须周密安排,使所学生词及时得到巩固,反复再现,不断强化,使短时记忆通过学习有时间间隔的多次重复与刺激转化为长时记忆,达到牢记不忘的词汇教学效果。
1.引导学生多练,多实践
教师呈现生词之后,除了多示范、多领读领说之外,还必须以学生为主体引导学生多说、多练、多读,这不但能使学生有机会反复强化大脑皮层中所产生的生词兴奋中心,而且能通过发音器官的反复操练,使生词的读音达到熟巧程度。发音器官的动觉与听觉器官的收听相结合,建立起牢固的联系,单词的识记就会更加深化。
2.通过语言实践练习巩固单词
教学单词时我始终坚持的是词不离句、句不离文的原则。由于英语单词的音和义之间的联系与结合是约定俗成的,所以也是最难记忆的,这就造成了记单词效率低下。要想提高记忆效率就要努力使生词与大脑中原有的信息联系起来,这样生词就不再是孤立的,而是与上下文提供的语言环境联系在一起。如果一个生词在学生已知的不同场合、不同的上下文中多次出现,那么这个单词就会较顺利地进入长时记忆之中,所以应该多在语境中巩固生词。例如:在学习了be born之后,就可以尽量在不同场合中运用这个词汇:I was born in Beijing. My father was born in Nanjing. You were born in Tianjing.Now,I want to tell you an interesting story:One day, little Tom asked his mother,“Where were you born,Mum?””I was born in Paris.”answered his mother.“But where was Dad born?”“He was born in London,my dear.”“But where was I born,then?”“You were born right here,in New York,dear Tom.”Little Tom got very much surprised and asked his mother:“How can it be that? Dad was born in London.You were borm in Paris,and I was born in New York!Then, how could we there get to know each other?”这个幽默故事生动有趣,既练习了学生的听力,又将be born 的用法在生动的语境之中重复了九次之多。在教师讲述的基础上组织学生回答有关的问题,或由学生互相问答,进行复述练习等。在运用句子和情景叙述中进一步巩固,熟练掌握词汇。
3.创造英语语言环境
学过的英语词汇必须反复重现,才有利于巩固。为此,教师在课堂上要尽可能多地用英语组织教学,用英语教英语,尽量做到用学生学过的句式和旧词完成课堂实践练习活动。注意激发学生学习词汇兴趣的同时巧设情景,尽量把词汇置于能听、能看、可触摸、可感受的语言环境中去,使学生不至于感到词汇学习单调乏味而失去兴趣。
三、尽量用英语解释词义
在英语课堂教学中应该尽量用英语释义,使学生经常听到学过的句式和词语,这不但有助于提高英语听力,而且能经常复习学过的词汇和句式,更有助于培养学生运用英语表达思想的交际能力。除了词义抽象,难以通过英语理解的个别单词用汉语释义外,绝大多数词汇都可以用英语释义。下面介绍几种方法:
1.形象介绍法
通过具体的形象和周围环境的衬托介绍词义,在形象与词义之间建立直接的联系。这种方法形象直观、快捷方便。利用实物、图片、多媒体等教词义具体的名词是非常方便的。例如:利用实物(如:书包)教生词schoolbag,教师拿起一个书包说:Boys and girls, please look atthis. What is it in my hand?It is a schoolbag.This is a schoolbag.You are students, and every student has a schoolbag. Li Ming has a blue schoolbag.Liu Ying has a red schoolbag.You all have schoolbags.We have learnt the word“school”,but “bag”is a new word. Now,please read after me:“bag”,”bag”,”schoolbag”,”schoolbag”.
2.语境衬托法
充分运用学生学过的语言材料,调动学生的思维能力和想象力去理解单词的含义。
例如:教“think”时可以配以手势这样说:I see with my eyes.I hear with my ears.I eat and drink with my mouth.I walk with my legs. I write with my hands.And I think with my head.What does the word“think”mean?
从表面上看来,似乎用语境衬托法教单词是绕了个大圈子,耽搁了时间,但是这样做不但培养了学生的听力,加强了课堂英语气氛,而且提供了大量的机会复习学过的语言材料,巩固词汇和句型,还能锻炼学生的英语思维能力,克服汉语的干扰作用,所以其积极作用是十分明显的。
3.动作演示法
在教动词时,教师可以借助动作、造型、表演、表情、发声、模仿等形体手段进行动作演示。例如:教write时,教师要做写的动作:Look!This is a pen. I have a pen in my hand.Now, I write some letters on the paper with the pen. I use my pen to write every day. Now read after me:“write”,”write”.教sleep,go,run,hold,climb等动词都可以借助动作、造型。
总之,利用动作表演解释动词词义是十分有效,又很便捷的教学方法。
4.绘画描述法
利用简笔画进行词汇教学是十分有效的方法,它不但能吸引学生的注意力,产生极为深刻的印象,而且能启发学生用英语积极思维,取得良好的教学效果。例如:
教elephant时,可以说:Boys and girls, I am going to draw an elephant on the blackboard. Yes, an elephant. Look, I have drawn a picture of an elephant. Now,read after me:elephant.
英语词汇教学方法和技巧多种多样。常言道:“教学有法,教无定法。”因此,我们必须立足于时代和科学的发展,以科学的教学理论和《新课程标准》为依据,采取丰富多彩的教学形式,完成基础阶段的英语教学任务。

一、小学英语语法教学的现状和存在的问题
1.缺乏语境。
语言的学习最重要的就是创设相关语言的语境,从小到大我们生活在汉语普通话的语境下,即便没有人对我们进行专业汉语的教学,我们也能够用普通话和他人进行交流,这就是语境的作用。语境对于英语语法知识的学习也很重要,不过现阶段,小学英语语法知识的教学中,老师并没有给学生创造良好的语言环境。很多英语老师只采用汉语进行英语语法的教学,对于英语单词也是让学生记住汉语意思,而不注重英语单词的运用,造成学生听写单词时,老师负责报中文学生写英文,很多学生却写不出相应的英文单词。
2.老师不善于从学生的角度进行教学。
语法的学习是一个长期的过程,在这个过程中,老师应该密切注意学生动态,很多时候,老师在英语上的学习已经达到了十几年,然而,小学生在英语方面却是刚刚起步的阶段。在英语语法教学的过程中,学生难免会产生许多疑问,老师应该耐心细致地作出回答,从学生的角度出发,不要因为学生的问题比较幼稚就随意应付学生。同时很多老师在课堂上不注意倾听学生的心声,做学生的朋友,也没有关注学生的情绪和反应,师生交流太少,英语语法教学气氛沉闷。
二、英语语法教学理念和实践
1.隐性原则的运用。
在语法教学的过程中主要有两种教学方法,一种是显性语法教学,主要侧重于在课堂上直接讲述语法规则,另外一种是隐性语法教学,这种教学方法则强调在教学过程中,避免直接谈论所学的语法规则,而是创造相关的情景让学生体验语言,接着通过对语言的使用归纳出语法规则。英语课堂的枯燥性往往是因为老师与学生之间缺乏交流,而通过隐性原则的运用,则可以帮助老师与学生进行交流。
2.语法教学与多媒体结合。
小学英语语法教学显得比较乏味的原因,主要是老师的教学方法比较单一,只运用课堂的口头教学已经无法满足当今时代的要求了,随着科学技术的不断提高,多媒体设备开始进入现在的中小学课堂,英语语法教学除了采用一般的教学方式,还应该采用多种多样的教学方式,特别是采用多媒体教学手段。
3.故事学习法。
英语语法教学中通过故事的引用,可以让乏味的知识变得生动形象,小学生正处于成长的过程,听故事的兴趣较为浓厚,在讲解语法的同时,如果穿插进一两个故事,学生会很乐意认真听讲的。
4.创设语境进行语法教学。
创设语境对于语言的学习十分重要,它可以在潜移默化之中改变学生的思维方式,提高学生的英语水平。由于小学生的能力有限,不可能做到课堂教学全程英语,但是也应该采用双语教学,帮助学生在英语的语境下学习英语语法知识。还可以鼓励学生开展英语兴趣小组,类似于大学“英语角”的模式,采用英语进行交流。让学生在交流的过程中互相学习,这种做法也弥补了师生之间缺乏交流、互动的弊端,使英语语法教学更活跃,学生学习兴趣更浓。

Through the cold winter wasteland a man trudged, leaning into the harsh wind which spitefully tried to force him back. He was covered from head to toe in layers of thick clothing, layers of protection against the harsh environment. On he fought, searching, searching. He was working so hard. This must be the way.

One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid from my class walking home from school. His name was Kyle. It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, "Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd." I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friend tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on. As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him. He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes. So, I jogged over to him and as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye. As I handed him his glasses, I said, "Those guys are jerks. They really should get lives.

I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the story of the first day we met. He had planned to kill himself over the weekend. He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home. He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile. "Thankfully, I was saved. My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable."
