There is the feeing thateducationtoday should be practical as well as theoretical. For this reason, there are many courses which teach a student how to do things: how to make a dress, how to prepare a meal, how to use a computer or a calculator, how to draw plans for a house. Even in the more theoretical courses the teachers are constantly training their students to look for the practical applications of what they are learning.
