In the song Dynasty (960-1279),there was a scholar whose name was Wen Tong and who styled himself Yuke. He was not only admired by others for his great learning, but also enjoyed widespread renown for his bamboo drawing. Every day there were always quite a few peoply who called at his house to ask for one of his bamboo drawings.
Actually, Wen Tong loved bamboos so much that he had grown various bamboos everywhere around his house. No matter what season it was and no matter whether it was sunny or rainy, he used to go to the bamboo forest to observe how they were growing. He pondered over the lenght and breadth of the bamboo poles as well as the shapes and colours of the leaves. Whenever he had gained a new understanding, he went back to his study, spread a piece of paper and prepareed some ink by rubbing an ink stick on an ink slab, and drew what was in his mind on the paper. Through accumulation over a long period of time, the images of the bamboo in different seasons, under different weather conditions and at different moments were deeply imprinted in his mind.So whenever he stood before the paper and picked up a painting brush with concentrated attention, the various forms of the bamboo which he had observed at ordinary times at once rose before his eyes. And so every time he was drawing bamboos he appeared confident and at ease, and all the bamboos he had painted were very vivid and true to lift.
When people spoke highly of his paintings, he always said modestly that he had just put the images of the bamboo imprinted in his mind on the paper.
A young man wanted to learn bamboo drawing; when he knew that Chao Buzhi had made a profound study of Wen Tong's art of drawing, he went to Chao Buzhi for instruction. Chao Buzhi wrote a poem to him. In the poem, there are the following two lines:
When Yuke was painting the bamboos,
He bad their images ready in his bosom.
Later people have summarized the lines as " having had the images of the bamboo ready in one's bosom," which means having had ready plans or designs in one's mind before doing a certain job so that its success is guaranteed. It is also used go mean being calm and cool - headed in dealing with things.

小学英语教学要通过听说读写训练帮助学生学会正确的英语发音,具有一定的口头表达能力,它犹如一根主线贯穿整个教学的全过程。其中,听说训练极为重要,训练的途径也是多样化的。经过不断探索与实践总结出以下几个途径:
一、用英语组织教学,创设使用英语的环境。
1、在英语教学过程中尽可能少地说汉语,而是通过手势、眼神、动作、音调等辅助手段来组织教学。用英语组织教学能增加学生的语言实践机会,创设英语氛围,培养学生直接用英语思维、表达的习惯。 例如:采用“Let's begin now. Good morning (afternoon),class!”来作为一堂课的开场白,而在下课时用“Class is over. Goodbye, class!”作为结束语。在讲课过程中,提醒学生看黑板时,便会用手指着黑板并说出“Look at the blackboard.”让学生打开书时,便会说出 “Open your book , please.” ,同时将双手摊开。要求学生合上书,我便说 “Close your book, please.”并将双手由摊开到合并。
2、要求学生在学校见到英语老师,用英语打招呼;凡是英语课堂,就要求学生尽可能用英语进行交流,如学生来晚了要进教室,就必须用英语说出:“May I come in ,please?”老师就用英语回话:“Come in , please!”刚开始,由于句型学得少,不少学生都是采用“单词+手势”的方式进行交流,随着学习的深入,很多学生都能主动地运用所学过的英语进行简单地问候和谈话。
二、五分钟日常会话练习。
会话的内容要与学生生活实际紧密联系,形式多样化,要保证大部分学生参加语言训练。为此,在课前五分钟选择的内容都是生活的缩影。一共分三大块:English song ,Daily talk ,Dialogue。 对于English song ,欢快的节奏能激发学生学习的兴趣,俗话说“良好的开端是成功的一半”,小小英文歌用处真不小。例如:Good morning 、If you are happy等唱起来都需用到连续升降调,学生虽是唱歌却也达到了听说训练的目的。 对于Daily Talk和Dialogue则更有用处, What's your name ? How old are you ? What day is today ?从姓名、年龄到天气等等,面相当广,为提高学生的听说能力打下了扎实的基础。
三、创设情境,角色扮演。
英语作为一种语言,必须融于一定的情境之中。课堂表演就是要创造一定的语言环境,给孩子一份自由发展、自由发挥的天地。乌申斯基曾经说过:“儿童是用形象、声音、色彩和感觉思维的。”而表演正是集形象、声音、色彩和感觉于一体,它摆脱了死记硬背的旧模式。在教学中,经常请几人一组运用所学的知识表演,成效较大。
例如在教句型“May I have a look? Sure, Here you are.”时,让学生互相邀请:x x x ,please,然后进行对话练习,讲的流利、标准、响亮的,全班同学以掌声给予表扬,这样学生的表演结果显示学生不但会说,而且能配上自己的动作,表现得相当自然。于是在欢乐愉快的情境中学会了句型。
在教句型Are you __? Yes, I am.(No, I'm not, I am __.)时可以设计一个猜人游戏,请一位学生拿针管扮演Nurse,一位学生头上扎头巾扮演Peasant.还有分别扮演Worker、Teacher等等。然后蒙住一位学生的眼睛让他用Are you __?的句型提问,扮演者可根据问题进行Yes,I am或No,I'm not.I am __ .的回答。
通过实践,就会发现学生的兴趣相当高,而且争着练,练的面很广。

“尽力关注各个层次的学生”,这一点我以前做的不够好,来往较多的很多时候都是英语学习较好的学生或者比较外向活跃的学生居多,对另一部分不太喜欢张扬、内向的学生接触较少。这个学期,我尽力接触每位学生,主动走进不善于跟别人交往的学生。课堂上如何最大限度地调动学生思维积极性,一直是英语教师苦苦求索的问题。传统的课堂教学往往是教师在那里表演单口相声,学生只不过是一群很守规矩的看客或听众而已,一堂课下来老师讲得口干舌燥、筋疲力尽,而学生却常常无动于衷、收获甚微。因此英语教师也要善于“借风”。 课堂尽量多说英语。用英语组织课堂学生肯定有不适应期,但是如果坚持下去,或许会慢慢适应。但是要注意课堂用于的简单易懂,适当用母语。
增加课堂的趣味性。上个学期,考虑到学生比较活跃调皮,很多时候该组织的活动都取消,该用多媒体时放弃,自己也感觉有时课堂有些索然无味。这个问题本学期需要考虑,让自己的课堂学生喜欢。

A light drizzle was falling as my sister Jill and I ran out of the Methodist Church, eager to get home and play with the presents that Santa had left for us and our baby sister, Sharon. Across the street from the church was a Pan American gas station where the Greyhound bus stopped. It was closed for Christmas, but I noticed a family standing outside the locked door, huddled under the narrow overhang in an attempt to keep dry. I wondered briefly why they were there but then forgot about them as I raced to keep up with Jill.

在新课标的要求下,英语教育改革的新时期,转变教学观念,发展新的技能和技巧,是英语教学所面临的新形势,因此,如何更好的促进课堂教学质量,提高学生学 习英语的兴趣,是我们讨论的共同话题.现在,八年级下学期的教学已经开始了,八年级的教材形式上发生了变化,并且多了阅读理解部分.其次八年级的语法知识 点增多,难度也有所提高,对学生的口语表达能力和阅读能力都有新的要求,这就对教师的要求有了新的提高:
一. 教师在教学的过程中首先要把握重难点
我 认为这是教学中对教师最重要的要求.如果无法很好的把握重难点.则会对重点知识的讲授蜻蜓点水,导致学生也无法分清重难点.学生在学习的过程中把大量的时 间花费在零散知识上,而忽视了重之之重.教师为了更好的把握重难点就要认真的研读教材,仔细研究教学参考,并且做好教学反思,从同学们的错误中反馈自己的 失误,不断地摸索和探索.
二. 其次语法讲解一定要清楚,透彻.
在讲解重点语法的过程中,教师要多举例子,并且要学生造句子,不能光停留在枯燥,抽象的讲解过程中.
三. 应加强学生的对话强度,鼓励不开口说英语的学生开口.
有些学生是对自己不自信,是因为曾经对话的过程中,出现失误却被老师尖刻的言语刺伤,所以当学生出现错误的时候应微笑着让他坐下,然后再纠正错误.有些同学的对话可能会脱离现实生活,但只要开口说英语就要鼓励.
四.在教学过程中应以学生为主体.
整 个课堂是学生在开口说而不是老师在干巴巴的讲授.尤其是教材的最后一部分,阅读部分.要使同学们在默读的前提下做课本上要求的练习题,也可以确定几个话 题,学生用英语进行讨论,锻炼他们用英文思考的能力,运用所学语言的能力.课文部分教材给出了一篇文章然后学生进行阅读,并且每篇文章后面都有若干个问 题,在这一部分一定要让学生在默读的前提下独立完成回答问题.锻炼他们的应试能力.
五.八年级英语教学单词仍然是基础.
我个人认为应该打好学生的单词基础.在讲授的过程中可以让同学们记它们的同义词及反义词.并且让同学们自己造句子
六.培养学生们的课文背诵能力.
严格要求学生要背诵下来课文.这样可以培养他们的英语语感.
总之,无论是七年级英语教学还是八年级英语教学,最重要的是教学技巧要灵活,教学要扎实.为了提高英语教学质量,教师必须对英语课堂教学进行反思,不断完善教学过程,不断反思,不断进取,努力提高课堂教学质量.我们每个教师都应在教中思,思中教,方可求得发展。

一、课堂教学中存在的问题。
1、由于初三英语教学的特殊性,我的讲解基本上还拘泥于教材的信息,而开放型的、能激发学生想象力与创造力和发散学生思维的课堂比例还较小。在课堂教学中,有时缺乏积极有效的师生互动,部分课时过于注重讲授,没有以精讲精练的要求正确处理好讲与练的关系,导致教与学不合拍,忽视对学生的基础、能力的关注。
2、课堂教学不能针对学生实际,缺乏“备学生”、“备学案”这一必要环节;对教材的处理和把握仍然拘泥于教材,没有进行有效地取舍、组合、拓展、加深;课堂教学没有真正做到对学生进行基础知识点、中考热点和中考难点的渗透,学生原有的知识不能得到及时、适时地活化;课堂密度要求不足,学生参与机会少、参与面小;课堂留给学生自疑、自悟、自学、自练、自得的时间十分有限。
3、对中考的研究不够,对中考的考试范围、要求、形式、出题的特点及规律的了解不够明确,在课堂教学中依赖于复习资料,缺乏对资料的精选与整合,忽视教师自身对知识框架的主动构建,从而课堂教学缺乏对学生英语知识体系的方法指导和能力培养。
4、课堂设计缺乏适当适时的教学评价,不能及时获悉学生在课堂上有没有收获,有多大收获等学情;课前设计“想教学生什么”,课堂反馈“学生学到什么”和课后反思“学生还想学什么”三个环节没有得到最大程度上的统一。
二、学生英语学习存在的问题。
由于课堂教学中以上问题的存在,学生的英语学习与复习出现了许多问题。
1.学生对英语学习缺乏兴趣、自信心和学习动力;在英语课堂上不积极参与,缺少主动发言的热情或根本不愿意发言;另外,相当一部分学生在听新课时跟不上老师的节奏或不能理解教师相对较快的指示语。
2.学生对英语课堂知识的掌握不实在、理解不全面,课外花的冤枉时间多;而大部分学生对书本知识不够重视,找不到英语学科复习的有效载体,不能有效的利用课本,适时地回归课本,英语复习缺乏系统性,英语学习缺乏主动性。

People always say: life is nothing but a sum of moments. I suppose everyone has their own moments, either high or low, up or down, such as being born, first learning to walk, laughing hard, bursting into tears, being touched by a child’s smile, losing beloved ones…today I think I witnessed or experienced such a moment, because it is the first time that I have ever seen a chapel ceremony, even being a very brief one.
A heavy guy in black suit and long beard came in solemnly with a pack and I first thought he was a magician based on his dress. Then, two big silver candleholders were placed on a long cube desk. He carefully put two long candles on the holders and lit them up. Under it was a small red rug, which made it more revere and sacred. He then took out a small book with a deep blue cover, of which the feeling was like the Holy Bible but more like Hebrews.
All of a sudden, he soared in an amazingly beautiful voice. The melody was beyond imagination. Although I did not understand a word of it, I could still sense that it was just the sacred melody as if from angels. The other people around were all echoing to it and it seemed the time even stopped just to listen to the holy rhythm and pious prayer. I literally saw tears in somebody’s eyes.
After the chapel session, everyone took a cup of wine and a slice of bread from the priest’s hand and savor the taste of life their god has given to them. At that moment, the candle light, the priest in black, the teary woman, the wine and bread symbolizing human’s flesh and blood…all of these transformed into a sacred moment of my life as a eye witness, as if my body was frozen in awe and wonder. Pictures formed before my eyes-- the primitives, who wore the skin of the wild animals and ate raw meat, danced in a circle around the fire and worshipping the gods whom they believed were controlling the thunder, the rain, the flood, the harvest, the human lifethe interval is thousands and thousands of years, but the scene and the spirit still resembles to great extent. I wonder with the time flying and the world changing, there is probably something that remains within the human race.
Technically, it was not one of my moments but rather a sacred moment that I witnessed as a bystander since I am sort of an atheist. However, to know the fact that there is such a mysterious and sacred thing exists in the human world which is called religion and that it elevates the soul of the believers and somewhat makes the world a better place is simply astounding.
