There is a story from many years ago of a primaryschool teacher. Her name was Mrs. Thompson. Andas she stood in front of the 5th grade class on thevery first day of school, she told the children a lie.Like most teachers, she looked her students andsaid that she loved them all the same.
But that was impossible because there in the frontrow, slumped in his seat, was a little boy named Teddy Stoddard.
Mrs.Thompson had watched Teddy the year before and noticed that he didn’t play well with theother children, his clothes were messy and constantly need a bath. And ,Teddy could beunpleasant.
It got to the point where Mrs. Thompson would actually take delight in making his papers witha broud red pen, making bold Xs and then putting a “F” at the top of his papers. At the schoolwhere Mrs. Thompson taught, she was required to relieve each child’s past records and sheput Teddy’s off until last.
However, when she relieved his file, she was in a surprise, Teddy’s first grade teacher wrote,”Teddy is a bright child with a ready laugh. He does his work neatly and has good manners…he isa joy to be around.”
His second grade teacher wrote, “Teddy is an excellent student, well liked by his classmates. Buthe is troubled because his mother has a terminal illness and life at home must be a struggle.”
His third grade teacher wrote, “His mother’s death has been hard on him. He tried to do hisbest but his father doesn’t show much interest in him, and his home life will steps aren’t taken.”
Teddy’s fourth grade teacher wrote, “Teddy is withdrawn and doesn’t show much interest inschool. He doesn’t have many friends and sometimes sleeps in class.”
By now, Mrs. Thompson realized the problem and she was ashamed of herself. She felt evenworse when her students brought her Christmas presents, wrapped in beautiful paper and tiedwith pretty ribbons, except for Teddy’s. His present was clumsily wrapped in the heavy, brownpaper that he got from a grocery bag.
Mrs.Thompson opened it in the middle of the other presents. Some of the children started tolaugh when she found a rhinestone bracelet with some of the stones missing, and a bottlethat was one-quarter full of perfume. But she stifled the children’s laughter when sheexclaimed how pretty the bracelet was, putting it on, and dabbing some of the perfume onher wrist. Teddy stayed after school that day just long enough to say, “Mrs. Thompson, todayyou smelled just like my mom used to.”
After the children left she cried for at least an hour. On the very day, she quit teaching reading, and writing, and arithmetic. Instead she began to teach children how to be a man.
Mrs.Thompson paid particular attention to Teddy. As she worked with him, his mind seemed tocome alive. The more she encouraged him, the faster he responded. By the end of the year,Teddy had become one of the smartest children in the class.
A year later, she found a note under her door, from Teddy, telling her that she was still thebest teacher he ever had in his whole life.
Six years later went by before she got another note from Teddy. He then wrote that he hadfinished high school, third in his class, and she was still the best teacher he ever had in hiswhole life.
Four years after that, she got another letter, saying that he would soon graduate from collegewith the highest of honors. Then four more years past and yet another letter came. This timehe explained that after he got his bachelor’s degree, he decided to go a little further. The letterexplained that she was still the best and favorite teacher he ever had. But now his name was alittle longer—the letter was signed, Theodore F. Stoddard, MD.
The story doesn’t end there. You see, there was yet another letter that spring. Teddy said he’dmet his girl and was going to be married. He explained that his father had died a couple of yeasago and he was wondering if Mrs.Thompson might agree to sit in the place at the wedding thatwas usually reserved for the mother of the groom. Of course Mrs. Thompson did.
At the wedding ceremony, they hugged each other, and Dr.Stoddard whispered in Mrs.Thompson’s ear, “Thank you Mrs.Thompson for believing in me, thank you so much for makingme feel important and showing me that I could make a difference.”
Mrs.Thompson, with tears in her eyes, whispered back. She said, “Teddy, you have it all wrong. You were the one who taught me that I could make a difference. I didn’t know how to teachuntil I met you.”
Mr.Whitson taught sixth-grade science. On the first day of class, he gave us a lecture about an animal called the Cattywampus, an ill-adapted nocturnal animal that was wiped out during the Ice Age, he passed around a skull as he talked. We all took notes and later had a quiz.
When he returned my paper, I was shocked. There was a big red “X” through each of my answers. I had failed. There had to be some mistakes! I had written down exactly what Mr.Whitson said.
Then I realized that everyone in the class had failed. What had happened? Very simple, Mr.Whitson explained. He had made up all that story about the Cattywampus. There had never been any such animal. The information in our notes was, therefore, incorrect. Did we expect credit for incorrect answers?
Needless to say, we were outraged. What kind of text was this? And what kind of teacher is?
We should have figured it out, Mr.Whitson said. After all, at the very moment he was passing around the Cattywampus skull (in truth, a cat’s), hadn’t he been telling us that no trace of the animal remained? He had described its amazing night vision, the color of its fur and any number of other facts he couldn’t have known, he had given the animal a ridiculous name, and we still hadn’t been suspicious. The zeroes on our papers would be recorded in his grade book, he said. And they were.
Mr.Whitson said he hoped we would learn something from this experience. Teachers and textbooks are not always right. In fact, no one is. He told us not to let our minds go to sleep, and to speak up if we ever thought he or the textbook was wrong.
Every class was an adventure with Mr.Whitson I can still remember some science periods almost from beginning to end. One day he told us that his Volkswagen was a living organism. It took us two full days to put together a refutation he would accept. He didn’t let us off the hook until we had proved not only that we knew what an organism was but also that we had the fortitude to stand up for the truth.
We carded our brand-new skepticism into all our classes. This caused problems for the other teachers, who weren’t used to being challenged. Our history teacher would be lecturing about something, and then there would be clearings of the throat and someone would say “Cattywampus”.
If I’m ever asked to propose a solution to the crisis in our schools, it will be Mr.Whitson. I haven’t made any great scientific discoveries, but Mr.Whitson’s class gave me and my classmates something just as important: the courage to look people in the eye and tell them they are wrong. He also showed us that you ca have fun doing it.

During moments of sadness or frustration, I often think of a family scene years ago in the town of Yakima, Washington. I was about seven or eight years old at the time. Father had died a few years earlier. Mother was sitting in the living room talking to me, telling me what a wonderful man Father was.
She told me of his last illness and death. She told me of his departure from Cleveland, Washington, to Portland, Oregon, for what proved to be a fatal operation. His last words to her were these: “If I die it will be glory, if I live it will be grace.”
I remember how those words puzzled me. I could not understand why it would be glory to die. It would be glory to live, that I could understand. But why it would be glory to die was something I did not understand until later.
Then one day in a moment of great crisis I came to understand the words of my father. “If I die it will be glory, if I live it will be grace.” That was his evening star. The faith in a power greater than man. That was the faith of our fathers.
A belief in a God who controlled man in the universe, that manifested itself in different ways to different people. It was written by scholars and learned men in dozens of different creeds. But riding high above all secular controversies was a faith in One who was the Creator, the Giver of Life, the Omnipotent.
Man’s age-long effort has been to be free. Throughout time he has struggled against some form of tyranny that would enslave his mind or his body. So far in this century, three epidemics of it have been let loose in the world.
We can keep our freedom through the increasing crisis of history only if we are self-reliant enough to be free—dollars, guns, and all the wondrous products of science and the machine will not be enough. “This night thy soul shall be required of thee.”
These days I see graft and corruption reach high into government. These days I see people afraid to speak their minds because someone will think they are unorthodox and therefore disloyal.
These days I see America drifting from the Christian faith, acting abroad as an arrogant, selfish, greedy nation, interested only in guns and dollars, not in people and their hopes and aspirations.
These days the words of my father come back to me more and more. We need his faith, the faith of our fathers. We need a faith that dedicates us to something bigger and more important than ourselves or our possessions. Only if we have that faith will we be able to guide the destiny of nations, in this the most critical period of world history.

Many years ago, a baby boy came into this world. But unfortunately, he didn't come with a cry, which was a big problem from the medical point of view. The doctor, tough and quick, turned the baby upside down and slapped his bottom sharply. The baby cried, and he survived. At that moment, the father yelled at the doctor, "Why did you hit my baby?" He did not realize that the doctor had saved the baby's life. The baby cried and cried, and the father smiled and silently cried as well. He held the baby in his arms and did not allow the doctor to touch the baby anymore...
Contest chair, ladies and gentlemen, that baby was me, and that man was my dad. Whenever my mom told people this story, I would always laugh aloud, and my dad would just shake his head and smile quietly.
Dad never tried to hug or kiss me when I was a child. And of course, he never said "I love you" to me, either. Maybe it's a Chinese cultural thing, or maybe that's the way my dad was. But whenever I felt defeated, sad or lonely, dad was always there. Dad was a man of few words, but I always liked to talk to him, and I could always feel a very special connection to him.
As I got older, I had a huge crush on a girl. She was tall and beautiful, with long hair. One day, I walked up to her and blurted out, "you are so beautiful baby. I love you so much. Please be my wife!" She was afraid and ran away with tears in her eyes. She told my teacher, and my teacher was so angry that she made me stay after school, and called my dad to take me home. My first love was over, and that year I was 7 years old.
On the way home, dad was very quiet. It seemed that nothing had happened. Finally I broke the silence and asked him, "Daddy, did I do something wrong?" Dad paused for a while as he always did and said quietly, "Son, you did nothing wrong, except that it's too early for you to pursue girls." "Daddy, do you think I could marry a tall and beautiful girl with long hair when I grow up?" I asked. Dad gave me one of his rare laughs and said, "Of course you could. You are so handsome! Just like your handsome father." For the first time, I realized that dad had a sense of humor, although he was always quiet.
When I was in high school, dad retired and set up a food stand on the street near my school. Dad was very good at making fried noodles, and a lot of people liked his noodles. Every day when I finished school, my classmates and I would pass his food stand. But I really hated talking to dad in front of his food stand, because I did not want my classmates to know that my dad was selling noodles on the street!
One night, I couldn't stand it any more and shouted, "Dad, could you stop selling your stupid noodles? I don't need a father who sells noodles on the street!" At that moment, dad was shocked. He tried to say something but didn't. When he turned his head away, something happened that I had never seen and would never forget for the rest of my life. His eyes were filled with tears and sadness. It was the first time that I saw dad crying. My mom later told me that dad was selling noodles to save money for my college education. I was such an idiot, and even today I still feel guilty for that night.
Time really flies. I finished college and then left my home city. For the past ten years, whenever I've visited home, dad was always there meeting me and seeing me off quietly at the railway station. Whenever he saw me off, he never tried to hug me or touch me, although I always expected a father's hug. When I was away from home, dad never wrote or called me, but he always pushed my mom to call me. Whenever mom was calling me, dad would sit beside her with a list of questions. He would instruct mom to talk to me for him. That's the way dad is, and that's how dad shows his love to me.
I was married three years ago. Dad was very happy for me. And now he likes to tell people that his daughter-in-law is tall and beautiful, with long hair...
Dad is still quiet, but I still feel a connection. Ladies and gentlemen, when a connection is deep and powerful, it lives in a place far beyond words, and it becomes something special—"a silent father's love."

He was 11 years old and went fishing every chancehe got from the dock at his family's cabin on anisland in the middle of a New Hampshire lake.
On the day before the bass season opened, he andhis father were fishing early in the evening, catchingsunfish and perch with worms. Then he tied on asmall silver lure and practiced casting. The lure struckthe water and caused colored ripples in the sunset, then silver ripples as the moon rose over the lake.
When his peapole doubled over, he knew somethinghuge was on the other end. His father watched with admiration as the boy skillfully worked thefish alongside the dock.
Finally, he very gingerly lifted the exhausted fish from the water. It was the largest one he hadever seen, but it was a bass.
The boy and his father looked at the handsome fish, gills playing back and forth in themoonlight. The father lit a match and looked at his watch. It was 10 P.M.-- two hours beforethe season opened. He looked at the fish, then at the boy.
"You'll have to put it back, son," he said.
"Dad!" cried the boy.
"There will be other fish," said his father.
"Not as big as this one," cried the boy.
He looked around the lake. No other fishermen or boats were anywhere around in themoonlight. He looked again at his father. Even though no one had seen them, nor could anyoneever know what time he caught the fish, the boy could tell by the clarity of his father's voicethat the decision was not negotiable. He slowly worked the hook out of the lip of the hugebass and lowered it into the black water.
The creature swished its powerful body and disappeared. The boy suspected that he wouldnever again see such a great fish.
That was 34 years ago. Today, the boy is a successful architect in New York City. His father'scabin is still there on the island in the middle of the lake. He takes his own son and daughtersfishing from the same dock.
And he was right. He has never again caught such a magnificent fish as the one he landed thatnight long ago. But he does see that same fish-again and again-every time he comes up againsta question of ethics.
For, as his father taught him, ethics are simple matters of right and wrong. It is only thepractice of ethics that is difficult. Do we do right when no one is looking? Do we refuse to cutcorners to get the design in on time? Or refuse to trade stocks based on information that weknow we aren't supposed to have?
We would if we were taught to put the fish back when we were young. For we would havelearned the truth. The decision to do right lives fresh and fragrant in our memory. It is a storywe will proudly tell our friends and grandchildren. Not about how we had a chance to beat thesystem and took it, but about how we did the right thing and were forever strengthened.

He was 11 years old and went fishing every chancehe got from the dock at his family’s 1)cabin on anisland in the middle of a New Hampshire lake.
On the day before the 2)bass season 3)opened, heand his father were fishing early in the evening, catching 4)sunfish and 5)perch with worms. Then hetied on a small silver 6)lure and practiced casting. The lure struck the water and caused colored 7)ripples in the sunset, then silver ripples as themoon rose over the lake.
When his 8)peapole doubled over, he knew something huge was on the other end. His fatherwatched with admiration as the boy skillfully worked the fish alongside the dock.
Finally, he very 9)gingerly lifted the exhausted fish from the water. It was the largest one hehad ever seen, but it was a bass.
The boy and his father looked at the handsome fish, 10)gills playing back and forth in themoonlight. The father lit a match and looked at his watch. It was 10 P.M.-- two hours beforethe season opened. He looked at the fish, then at the boy.
“You’ll have to put it back, son,” he said.
“Dad!” cried the boy.
“There will be other fish,” said his father.
“Not as big as this one,” cried the boy.
He looked around the lake. No other fishermen or boats were anywhere around in themoonlight. He looked again at his father. Even though no one had seen them, nor could anyoneever know what time he caught the fish, the boy could tell by the clarity of his father’s voicethat the decision was not 11)negotiable. He slowly worked the hook out of the lip of thehuge bass and lowered it into the black water.
The creature 12)swished its powerful body and disappeared. The boy suspected that he wouldnever again see such a great fish.
That was 34 years ago. Today, the boy is a successful architect in New York City. His father’scabin is still there on the island in the middle of the lake. He takes his own son and daughtersfishing from the same dock.
And he was right. He has never again caught such a magnificent fish as the one he landed thatnight long ago. But he does see that same fish-again and again-every time he comes up againsta question of 13)ethics.
For, as his father taught him, ethics are simple matters of right and wrong. It is only thepractice of ethics that is difficult. Do we do right when no one is looking? Do we refuse to14)cut corners to get the design in on time? Or refuse to trade stocks based on informationthat we know we aren’t supposed to have?
We would if we were taught to put the fish back when we were young. For we would havelearned the truth. The decision to do right lives fresh and fragrant in our memory. It is a storywe will proudly tell our friends and grandchildren. Not about how we had a chance to beat thesystem and took it, but about how we did the right thing and were forever 15)strengthened.

When the good Lord was creating fathers, Hestarted with a tall frame. And a female angel nearbysaid, "What kind of father is that? If you're going tomake children so close to the ground, why have youput fathers up so high? He won't be able to shootmarbles without kneeling, tuck a child in bed withoutbending, or even kiss a child without a lot ofstooping."
And God smiled and said, "Yes, but if I make himchild size, who would children have to look up to?"
And when God made a father' hands, they were large and sinewy.
And the angel shook her head sadly and said, "Do You know what You're doing? Large handsare clumsy. They can't manage diaper pins, small buttons, rubber bands on pony tails or evenremove splinters caused by baseball bats."
God smiled and said, "I know, but they're large enough to hold everything a small boy emptiesfrom his pockets at the end of a day, and get small enough to cup a child's face."
Then God molded long, slim legs and broad shoulders.
The angel nearly had a heart attack. "Boy, this is the end of the week, all right," she clucked. "Do You realize You just made a father without a lap? How is he going to pull a child close tohim without the kid falling between his legs?"
God smiled and said, "A mother needs a lap. A father needs strong shoulders to pull a sled, balance a boy on a bicycle or hold a sleepy head on the way home from the circus."
God was in the middle of creating two of the largest feet anyone had ever seen when the angelcould contain herself no longer. "That' not fair. Do You honestly think those large boats aregoing to dig out of bed early in the morning when the baby cries? Or walk through a smallbirthday party without crushing at least three of the guests?"
And God smiled and said, "They'll work. You'll see. They'll support a small child who wants to"ride a horse to Banbury Cross" or scare off mice at the summer cabin, or display shoes thatwill be a challenge to fill."
God worked throughout the night, giving the father few words, but a firm authoritative voice;eyes that see everything, but remain calm and tolerant.
Finally, almost as an afterthought, He added tears. Then He turned to the angel and said, "Noware you satisfied that he can love as much as a mother?"
And the angel shutteth up!

Materialistic happiness is short-lived, but happiness achieved by bringing a smile on others' face gives a certain level of fulfillment. Peace of mind is the main link to happiness. No mind is happy without peace. We realize the true worth of happiness when we are in sorrow. Sorrow is basically due to death of a loved one, failure and despair. But these things are temporary and pass away.

The life-long benefits of teaching children goodmoney habits make it well worth the effort. Childrenwho are not taught these lessons pay theconsequences for a life-time. Some parents don'tteach children about money because they think theyshouldn't talk about money with children, don't havethe time, or think they don't have enough money.Parents should take the time to teach children aboutmoney regardless of their income and should startwhen children are young.
Most people have strong feelings and opinions about money, based on childhood experiencesand the values and beliefs of their families. Most often, these experiences, values, and beliefsare different for each parent. It is vital for the healthy development of children that parents talkabout these feelings and opinions and establish a consistent approach to teaching childrenabout money.
Here are some guidelines parents can keep in mind as they begin the financial socialization oftheir children:
Guide and advise rather than direct and dictate how the child's money should be used.
Encourage and praise the child rather than criticize and rebuke actions taken.
Allow children to learn by mistakes and by successes.
Be consistent while taking children's differences into account.
Include all family members in money management discussions, decision making, and activitiesas appropriate for their age.
Explain to children what they can and cannot do and the consequences of violating the limits.
As children get older increasingly include them in discussions of limits and consequences.
Expect all family members to perform unpaid, routine household chores based on theirabilities.
Express your desire to have things you can't afford. Children need to know that parents say“no” to themselves, too.

Steve, a twelve-year-old boy with alcoholic parents, was about to be lost forever, by the U.S. educationsystem. Remarkably, he could read, yet, in spite ofhis reading skills, Steve was failing. He had beenfailing since first grade, as he was passed on fromgrade to grade. Steve was a big boy, looking morelike a teenager than a twelve year old, yet, Stevewent unnoticed... until Miss White.
Miss White was a smiling, young, beautiful redhead, and Steve was in love! For the first time inhis young life, he couldn't take his eyes off his teacher; yet, still he failed. He never did hishomework, and he was always in trouble with Miss White. His heart would break under hersharp words, and when he was punished for failing to turn in his homework, he felt justmiserable! Still, he did not study.
In the middle of the first semester of school, the entire seventh grade was tested for basicskills. Steve hurried through his tests, and continued to dream of other things, as the day woreon. His heart was not in school, but in the woods, where he often escaped alone, trying to shutout the sights, sounds and smells of his alcoholic home. No one checked on him to see if hewas safe. No one knew he was gone, because no one was sober enough to care. Oddly, Stevenever missed a day of school.
One day, Miss White's impatient voice broke into his daydreams.
“Steve!” Startled, he turned to look at her.
“Pay attention!”
Steve locked his gaze on Miss White with adolescent adoration, as she began to go over thetest results for the seventh grade.
“You all did pretty well,” she told the class, “except for one boy, and it breaks my heart to tellyou this, but...” She hesitated, pinning Steve to his seat with a sharp stare, her eyes searchinghis face.
“...The smartest boy in the seventh grade is failing my class!”
She just stared at Steve, as the class spun around for a good look. Steve dropped his eyesand carefully examined his fingertips.
After that, it was war!! Steve still wouldn' do his homework. Even as the punishments becamemore severe, he remained stubborn.
“Just try it! ONE WEEK!” He was unmoved.
“You'e smart enough! You'l see a change!” Nothing fazed him.
“Give yourself a chance! Don' give up on your life!” Nothing.
“Steve! Please! I care about you!”
Wow! Suddenly, Steve got it!! Someone cared about him? Someone, totally unattainable andperfect, CARED ABOUT HIM!
Steve went home from school, thoughtful, that afternoon. Walking into the house, he tookone look around. Both parents were passed out, in various stages of undress, and the stenchwas overpowering! He, quickly, gathered up his camping gear, a jar of peanut butter, a loafof bread, a bottle of water, and this time...his schoolbooks. Grim faced and determined, heheaded for the woods.
The following Monday he arrived at school on time, and he waited for Miss White to enter theclassroom. She walked in, all sparkle and smiles! God, she was beautiful! He yearned for hersmile to turn on him. It did not.
Miss White, immediately, gave a quiz on the weekend homework. Steve hurried through thetest, and was the first to hand in his paper. With a look of surprise, Miss White took his paper.Obviously puzzled, she began to look it over. Steve walked back to his desk, his heartpounding within his chest. As he sat down, he couldn' resist another look at the lovely woman.
Miss White' face was in total shock! She glanced up at Steve, then down, then up. Suddenly, her face broke into a radiant smile. The smartest boy in the seventh grade had just passed hisfirst test!
From that moment nothing was the same for Steve. Life at home remained the same, but lifestill changed. He discovered that not only could he learn, but he was good at it! He discoveredthat he could understand and retain knowledge, and that he could translate the things helearned into his own life. Steve began to excel! And he continued this course throughout hisschool life.
After high-school Steve enlisted in the Navy, and he had a successful military career. Duringthat time, he met the love of his life, he raised a family, and he graduated from college MagnaCum Laude. During his Naval career, he inspired many young people, who without him, mightnot have believed in themselves. Steve began a second career after the Navy, and he continuesto inspire others, as an adjunct professor in a nearby college
Miss White left a great legacy. She saved one boy who has changed many lives. I know, because I am the love of his life.
You see, it' simple, really. A change took place within the heart of one boy, all because of oneteacher, who cared.

It hurts to love someone and not be loved in return. But what is more painful is to love someone andnever find the courage to let that person know howyou feel.
A sad thing in life is when you meet someone whomeans a lot to you, only to find out in the end that itwas never meant to be and you just have to let go.
The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on aporch swing with, never say a word, and then walkaway feeling like it was the best conversation you'veever had.
It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don'tknow what we've been missing until it arrives.
It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to lovesomeone- but it takes a lifetime to forget someone. Don't go for looks; they can deceive.Don't go for wealth, even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because ittakes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright.
Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, becauseyou have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.
Always put yourself in the other's shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts theperson too.
A careless word may kindle strife; a cruel word may wreck a life; a timely word may levelstress; a loving word may heal and bless.
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything they just make the mostof everything that comes along their way.
Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, ends with a tear. When you were born, you werecrying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you're the onesmiling and everyone around you is crying.

"Dad!" cried the boy.
"There will be other fish," said his father.
"Not as big as this one," cried the boy.
He looked around the lake. No others were anywhere around in the moonlight. He looked again at his father. Even though no one had seen them, nor could anyone ever know what time he caught the fish, the boy could tell by the clarity of his father's voice that the decision was not negotiable. He slowly worked the hook out of the lip of the huge bass and lowered it into the black water. The boy suspected that he would never again see such a great fish.
That was 34 years ago. Today, the boy is a successful architect in New York City. He takes his own son and daughters fishing from the same dock.
And he was right. He has never again caught such a magnificent fish as the one he landed that night long ago. But he does see that same fish---again and again---every time he comes up against a question of ethics.
For, as his father taught him, ethics are simple matters of right and wrong. It is only the practice of ethics that is difficult. Do we do right when no one is looking? Do we refuse to cut corners to get the design in on time? Or refuse to trade stocks based on information that we know we aren't supposed to have?
We would if we were taught to put the fish back when we were young. For we would have learned the truth. The decision to do right lives fresh and fragrant in our memory.
It is a story we will proudly tell our friends and grandchildren. Not about how we had a chance to beat the system and took it, but about how we did the right thing and were forever strengthened.

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagles in flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
And there was nothing more to add,
He knew his masterpiece was complete,
And He called it -- Dad.
