不知道有多少英语学习者就是卡在了英语单词这座大山上,读读接下来的内容,相信你对单词记忆会有新的认识
大家有个正确、地道的发音后,可能还会遇到其它的疑问,比如如何记住单词拼写以及它的意思。学了很久英语的人都觉得单词拼写不是很难,特别是语音比较好的人。难就难在怎么记住意思,以及把单词运用到口语当中表达各种意识,这几乎是学英语的最高要求了,就是达到运用自如嘛。这也导致市面上各种格式的单词记忆法横空出世,有些的也很好。能够帮助很多人考过很多考试,但大部分却达不到能在口腔中运用的问题(这前面也讲过了是基础不对的缘故),所以我们的单词量会比外国人多,运用的确少的可怜。
那么到底如何记单词了,首先我们要明确记单词的目的,如果为了能把单词运用到口腔中表达各种意思,以至真真正正掌握英语后再去考试,保证会事半功倍。那如果首先就是只以考试为目的去记忆单词的话,肯定是事倍功半的,哈哈,所以我是强烈支持前面那种记单词的目的。对于日常的两三千单词,我们要严格要求自己去记,记住先突破语音后再把所有单词反复朗读,要求是所有音标都能写出。这样的话,它的意思会很容易的记住,因为比较简单,见的次数多了,运用多了,就特别熟了(把新单词当作你的新女朋友,你想天天、时时刻刻见到它,嘻嘻)。对于长单词和意思比较多的,就要花比较多时间了,但首先要保证发音过关,能记住它的音,意思的话只有慢慢才能记住,抗遗忘曲线很有用,自己要找到自己的抗遗忘曲线,然后集中学习,这样的效果比较好,这方面的话市场上肯定有很多教英语单词记忆方面的书,大多是针对考试的。那么我也说一下不想学好英语只为了应付考试的记忆单词方法。
为了应付考试,肯定要进行强背。强烈要求自己记住(其实大脑及不情愿做这样的活,因为你要强迫的使用自己的大脑。),那么这里就要提到所谓的“激情”问题。市面上有的英语利用爱国,励志的宣传要求学英语的人要始终处于“激情和巅峰”状态,如果你的英语没学好,那是因为你不能保持激情,不能癫狂的学习。其实这是一种误导,因为人是有生理周期的,不可能时时处于巅峰状态,学英语也是,要当作技术活和体力活(主要是动嘴)的结合来学习,用科学的方法指导自己。学英语没什么大不了的,何必上升到爱国的角度,对吧?好的,下面我详细讲讲怎样强背单词。
单词记忆第一步:明确词汇量空间。
任何的词汇记忆,都不是所有英文单词的记忆。一定要根据需要,明确自己的词汇量空间。一般来说,目前的各种词汇辅导的书已经很多,不需要自己去样本采集。
教学大纲的要求。比如初中英语,大纲要求是词汇量2000左右。高考大纲要求英语词汇量是3000个左右。大学4级词汇量5000个左右。6级词汇量是6500个左右。
然而,对于较高层次英语水平的词汇量,不再局限地要求词汇量的绝对多少,对于研究生英语,记忆6级词汇已经够用。这时候,构词法的理解更为重要。至于考托福、GRE,10000词汇量是高分必备,而20000词汇量,有当然最好,没有也不影响阅读速度。建议选择简单明了的词汇表,看着要少而薄,每页单词list尽可能多。选择一本好的词汇表,可以说是决定了下一步的难度和信心耐心。这时候应该注意区分两种需求。买书的时候,书厚实一些、内容全一些丰富一些,让人觉得实在,也觉得对得起书价,从而决定购买。但是在看书的时候,书越薄、越简单,就越容易接受,降低畏难情绪。特别是词汇表,本身比较枯燥乏味,进度慢就不会有成就感,锐气也会被消磨掉。
单词记忆第二步:看单词。
先集中看单词,而不是背单词。这个阶段5-10天。
在最短的时间内,把所有常用的单词粗粗看一遍。不要刻意去记忆,但是要认真,调用心里的所有感觉来接受每一个生词。
一般来说,对于6级6500词汇量,可以一天用1-3小时看一遍。由于人都有本能集中注意陌生词汇,浏览速度将越来越快,等对所有的要记忆的单词有个整体感知后在进行具体的单词记忆安排。以这种方法突击,是最容易见效的。
但是,一定要用心。如果心早就飞到天外,仅仅机械地翻看这些书页,是一点意义都没有的。
之所以是看单词而不要念单词,这是为了突破阅读障碍。在阅读的过程中,往往是默读影响了阅读速度,而我们只需理解单词的意思即可。我们必须把视觉刺激整合起来,对应思维要求,达到飞速阅读的境界。看单词比背单词有效,这是因为看单词的时候比较轻松,不容易产生疲劳,此外,也很容易达到形成整体单词结构轮廓印象的速度。
单词记忆第三步:想单词(及时复习阶段)。
根据科学的遗忘曲线大致分为一下几种复习时间段。
第一次:10分钟后,在这个周期内,记忆者对于记忆材料的印象最为清晰,而后其渐渐变得模糊。所以,我们要在10分钟时间记忆了新信息后,可以不继续记忆新的东西,而是复习刚刚记忆过的东西。能过回想起百分之八九十的内容,再继续记忆新的内容。
第二次:1个小时以后,背了一个小时后又可过来进行全部的第二次复习,一般建议每天记单词的时间在1-2小时之内,不然大脑效率会大大降低。
第三次:1天后,进行记过内容的第3次复习,后面依次类推。
第四次:5天后,进行记过内容的第4次复习。
第五次:1个月后,进行记过内容的第5次复习。
第六次:3个月后,进行记过内容的第6次复习。
这是给大家的一个大概的时间复习安排,具体的可依据这个安排视个人而定。
从记忆单词的第二天开始,就需要想单词。这是调用记忆,让单词不断地从脑子里过。
想单词是系统学习法最关键的一步。可以按住英文单词想中文意思,也可以按住中文想英文意思。前者比较简单,后者比较难。
在刚开始的时候,可以按照词汇表来回忆单词。也就是让词汇表在脑海重现。
想单词的速度比看单词要快。对于记忆来说,看单词是“记”的过程,想单词是“忆”的过程。“记”“忆”的最有效结合就是“看”“想”结合。
在七天以后,想单词可以尝试自己分类归纳总结。这时候应该让单词概念和实际事物对应,形成image(形象)。
一般来说,归纳总结的依据是单词的区别和联系。找到单词的特点,形成概念群并捆绑,是深化记忆的最佳办法。建立单词之间的逻辑关系是很重要的。这样可能对一些几年没用过一次的单词都牢牢记得。
单词的特点有很多。发音,词根变化,外形差异,内容,使用范围等等,都是思考的重点,这部分的内容要自己去看书,有很多书中都有。
想单词将伴随英语学习的一生,在不断想的过程中就可以将单词放在句子中,自己造句表达自己的意识。但是在突击阶段过去以后,可以适当降低其深度和广度,减少想单词的时间。
最后希望你明确的一点是:学是为了使用,现学现用是最有效的学习方法。
使用是多方面多角度的。使用的过程,能真正发现单词和短语的特点和使用环境的需要,因此是树状结构细化的过程。也只有通过实际应用,网状联系才可能较准确较细致地铺开。实践是广泛联系的基础。
在刚开始的时候,由于条件不具备,我建议从大量的快速阅读开始(建议先打好发音基础关)。阅读材料不需要很难。为培养速度和感觉的时候,往往是越简单越好。初学者可以看一些国外儿童读物,趣味短文,如幽默和童话故事。
大量阅读可以迅速形成整体意念,并在单词的使用环境做出定格和校正。有前面的铺垫,阅读不存在单词的障碍,这时的注意力就应该转移到单词在文章中的映射上。
以上就是记单词的大致步骤,在这三大步骤的前提下还可进行比如图像记忆法,词根词缀记忆法,逆向记忆法等等适合你的方法。

The words and phrases, which cover toys, food, animals and, of course, include ‘mummy’ and ‘daddy’ and ‘bye bye’ are designed to detect youngsters who could struggle with words for years come.
Being slow to talk can also be a sign of deeper problems from deafness to autism.
The 25 ‘must have’words are part of a much larger list of 310 words that should be in a toddler’s vocabulary and designed to be ticked off in 10 minutes by parents.

Bilingual children outperform children who only speak one language in problem-solving skills and creative thinking, according to research led at the University of Strathclyde.

A study of primary school pupils who spoke English or Italian- half of whom also spoke Gaelic or Sardinian- found that the bilingual children were significantly more successful in the tasks set for them. The Gaelic-speaking children were, in turn, more successful than the Sardinian speakers.

In the study, a total of 121 children in Scotland and Sardinia- 62 of them bilingual- were set tasks in which they were asked to reproduce patterns of coloured blocks, to repeat orally a series of numbers, to give clear definitions of words and to resolve mentally a set of arithmetic problems. The tasks were all set in English or Italian and the children taking part were aged around nine.

教学中,一个好的开头,等于成功了一半。没有好的导入,就不能引起学生的学习兴趣。歌曲就是很好的导入形式,小学生喜欢唱歌,用歌曲导入,可以调动学生的学习积极性,激发学生的学习兴趣。教育心理学表明:音乐教育与智育教育相辅相成。学生在唱歌时,随着旋律起伏的变化,在感到放松、愉快的同时,会产生兴奋情绪。把唱歌的形式运用到小学英语课堂教学中,能大大的提高学生学习英语的兴趣。例如,在教学3AUnit 2 PartB 颜色单词前,先让学生听一曲color song,小学生活泼,爱说爱唱,而且这首英语歌曲曲调欢快,节奏明快,学生能在悦耳的音乐声中无意识地感知新课内容。这种用唱歌导入新课进行英语单词和句子的学习,使学生既学习了英语语言,又在熟悉的旋律中学到了新知,轻松自然。
二、谈话导入,温故知新
小学教学中许多都是用很轻松的谈话的形式作为开头的。谈话导入法是小学英语教学过程中最常用的方法。通常情况下,新课之前,英语教师都会围绕一个或多个话题,与学生进行“freetalk”。通过一番“freetalk”,沟通了师生之间的感情,缩短了师生之间的距离,引导学生带着丰富的热情进入新课。我们知道每节课的教与学都不是孤立的,它有承上启下的作用,是旧知识的拓展与深化。因此我们要根据实际情况,精心设计谈话内容。
例如,在教学《牛津小学英语》4BUnit 8 In class时,笔者与学生进行问答练习:“Hi…,how are you? Can you see…over there? What can you see in our classroom? How manyclassrooms can you see in our school?”问题从简单到复杂,既对已学知识进行了复习,又自然地引入了新知识的教学。
三、游戏导入,趣味无穷
游戏是学生最喜欢的活动,也是很好的小学英语教学的导入形式。“玩”是儿童的天性,教师在课前充分利用教材内容,精心设计一系列知识性、趣味性强的听、说、读、写教学游戏可以满足小学生爱玩好动的心理,寓教于乐。游戏有许多种:Playetter games(字母游戏);Look say and guess(看看,说说,猜猜);Hide and seek(藏一藏,找一找);Doasurvey(调查报告);Pass the card(传卡片);Do the action(听音乐,做动作)等。例如,在教学3BUnit5时,笔者设计了这样一个游戏:让孩子们从事先准备好的袋子里摸出乒乓球,然后用英语说出数字,最后做加减法的游戏,学生们都跃跃欲试,气氛活跃,教学也因此取得了很好的效果。
四、实物导入,直观形象
实物导入并不是所有教学中都能运用的导入形式,但在条件可能的时候用实物去导入新课,效果很好。由于小学生年龄较小,知识范围有限,决定了他们对直观、新颖、有趣的材料容易理解和接受,所以教学中的实物、直观教具是必不可少的。在课堂教学中,出示实物可以变抽象为具体,不仅可以激发学生的兴趣和求知欲,而且有利于培养学生直接用外语感知事物和理解问题的能力。如:在教学牛津小学英语2 AUnit2时,教师可以准备一些实物,如勺子、护士帽、教棒、听诊器等,通过句型Who often uses this?引出单词,导入新课。
五、设问导入,启迪思维
审问导入法是指教师根据课文内容的需要故意设疑,制造悬念,从而激发学生的学习兴趣,培养学生的独立思考能力。教师在一堂课的开始就给学生设下悬念,能勾起学生强烈的破疑愿望,激发他们极大的学习兴趣。比如,在教4AUnit 7 It’slate 时,笔者事先在黑板上画一个圆,问学生:What’s this? 学生可能回答:It’s a circle. It’saball. It’s a sun.等等,接着笔者在圆内画一个小圆点,再问学生,此时他们会回答:It’saclock.这样就自然引入了这节课的内容。
六、情景导入,融入生活
新课程实施后,小学的英语教学离不开情境的创设,一定的教学情境,特别是多媒体的广泛应用,为英语教学提供了更好的条件,创设教学情境是小学英语导入的一个重要的方法,可以引导学生去思考和探索,可以激发学生学习的主动性和积极性。小学阶段的英语对话和课文多出现在一定的情景中。英语教师可利用形象、直观的教学手段创设逼真的语言环境,让同学们触景生情,学生在潜移默化中获得新知识。如在教学3BUnit 9 Shopping时,教师可以将教室布置成一个服装店,挂满衣服,并标明价格。学生老师分别扮演顾客和营业员。这样借助直观教具,配合动作、手势和表情等,设计一个买东西的真实情景,引出新授句子:Can I help you?I’d like…Howmuch isit?有了真实情境的烘托,学生就会有身临其境的感觉,在不知不觉中进入学习状态,学习知识和训练技能。
教学的导入是教学过程的重要一环,也是一个重要的教学方法。教学有法,但无定法,贵在得法。没有约定俗成的导入方法,也没有最好的方法,只有最适合学生的方法,只要教师能根据教学内容、教学目标、学生的心理特征以及学习英语的实际情况积极思考,不断反思和总结,就能设计出许许多多精彩且有效的课堂导入。

Who should pay for the first date? The majority says it’s the guy’s responsibility. A survey released this month found that about 77 percent of people in heterosexual relationships believe men should settle the bill on the first date. The survey was put together by US financial website NerdWallet. The site polled roughly 1,000 Americans who had been dating their partners for six months or more.
The financial chivalry began when, in the past, women had no access to employment and therefore couldn’t fend themselves financially. But nowadays, more and more women have become the breadwinners. According to The Atlantic, between 1960 and 2011 in the US, the proportion of two-parent US households in which the mother earned all or most of the income roughly quadrupled.

So why, amid economic changes and gender equity advancements, are men still expected to pay for the bill?

“As social roles start to change, people often embrace the changes that make their lives easier, but resist the changes that make their lives more difficult,” David Frederick, a professor of psychology at Chapman University, US, told The Huffington Post. “Who pays for dates … is one arena where women may be resisting gender changes more than men,” he suggested.

Frederick is a co-author of a study released last year that also found men tend to pay for dates. The study was larger than NerdWallet’s and polled about 17,000 people, according to The Atlantic. The study also found 39 percent of its female respondents admitted that they hoped men would reject their offers to help pay. Frederick and his colleagues called paying for dates “a rare case” in which women are motivated not to fight old-school gender dynamics. In the same way, men who are no longer breadwinners aren’t as eager to take up domestic responsibilities such as parenting and homemaking.

Many people would argue men’s paying for dates is a form of respecting women. But Joe Pinsker, writing in The Atlantic, says this seemingly “benevolent” form of sexism can lead to a sense of entitlement on men’s part — they tend to think that women owe them because they have paid.

Money can twist men’s opinion of sexual consent. Pinsker cites a 2010 study published in the Journal of Interpersonal Violence. It found that men were more likely than women to think that sex should be expected when a man pays for an expensive date.

This really is disturbing. But Frederick found something optimistic in his study that might serve as a warning to some women. Almost half of the men surveyed in the study he co-authored said that they would break up with a woman if she never offered to help pay the bill on a date. “In this single telling finding about dating and paying interactions, we see evidence of a sea change,” Frederick wrote.
