摘要:就八级写作项目而言,这主要体现在作文的内容和框架上。按照写作要求,一篇合格的作文由三个部分组成。第一部分包括作者的论点(THESISSTATEMENT)。论点应明确、清楚。第二部分是作文的主体。这部分的要求是通过恰当、合适的语篇模式(如:CAUSE ANDEFFECT,COMPARISON ANDCONTRAST,等等)来论证前面提出的论点。
作文的思想内容都必须通过语言形式来表达。八级作文要求语言得体、通顺,无重大语法错误。如果作文句不成句,用词不当,语法错误连篇,就很难将作者的意图表达清楚。
但是,历年来的写作项目反映出学生在作文的统一性、连贯性和语言的规范性方面还普遍存在一些问题。概括起来有以下几点:
l)作文中的论点未展开。这主要表现为没有按照要求在第一部分中阐明观点,而是东拉西扯,写了与题目有关或无关的细节或现象。比如在以 INSUPPORT OF DORMITORYPOLICIES为题的作文中,一些学生不是开门见山地点明主题思想,而是列举了一些寝室里的情况或评论一些不良现象。最后由于篇幅有限,就在结束时提一句寝室制度就草草收尾。
2)作文结构不严谨,段落没有主题句,且句际段落关系不明显。这种现象在考生的作文中带有一定的普遍性。有些学生在写作时没有理清思路,按照一定的逻辑框架写,而是想到什么就写什么,因此文章显得松散。
3)作文首尾不一致。作文开头与结尾部分内容衔接不上,或自相矛盾。
4)作文缺乏连贯性(COHERENCE)。在对历年考生作文的分析中,我们发现以下几个现象:
A. 差的作文中简单句多,而好的作文中则少;
B. 差的作文中从句和连词出现的频率大大低于好的作文;
C. 差的作文中各种照应的使用低于好的作文;
D. 差的作文中关键词和同义/近义词出现的频率低于好的作文。
以上部分简单地讨论了八级写作项目的要求、预期达到的标准以及学生作文中反映出来的一些带有共性的问题。在结束之前,我们就如何提高写作能力谈几点看法:
1、写作能力的培养要从最基本的做起,一步一个脚印,扎实地进行基本功训练。

新概念英语这套教材以其权威性和经典性著称于世,文章皆选自英国作家作品,处处体现出英国几百年文学史积淀而成的文笔精美的写作习惯,对于其严谨结构和精细用词的细细推敲获益良多。如果我们能通过学习,在写作中借鉴用上某些特定结构,可使我们的文章立即增色不少。
一、 我们在新概念英语二册第十四课中有这样一句话:“As I soon learnt, he was English himself!”从中我们学到“as 主语+动词+逗号+句子”的结构,用于表示“正如某人……的那样”。我们通过对主谓语的变通,可表示多种情况。如:我们中国人不管是说英语还是写英语都喜欢用一个结构“I think……”,用于表达“我认为……”、“我想……”,但多处多人重复,在写作考试中被判卷老师视为垃圾结构,极易引起其反感,而我们知道写作作为主观题,跟判卷老师的印象关系密切。若想避免此种情况,只需借鉴上文结构,改成“As I think, ……”,往往有事半功倍的效果。由这个结构还可表示“正如我们所知道的”(as we know…)、“正如某人所说的”(as somebody said…)、“正如我所听到的”(as I heard,…)等等。这个结构的学习使我们掌握了多种表达方式,尤其对英文基础比较薄弱的同学更有启发。
二、 新概念二册十课中的最后一句话:“It is being repaired by a friend of my father’s.”这里作者用了一个比较不多见的结构:双重所有格(a friend of my father’s),用以恰当的传达一个概念:它正被我爸爸的(很多朋友当中的)一个朋友修理。括号里的内容不被翻译出来,但是作者隐含的意思有:我爸爸有很多朋友,修它的只是其中之一。有的同学对照译文翻成“It is being repaired by my father’s friend.”但这样翻译意思不到位,作者的爸爸就成了只有一个朋友,从而出现错误。由此可以体会到新概念用词的精细和严密,同时双重所有格也成为我们可以在考试作文或各种正式文体当中借鉴的表达方式,为我们的文章增色。
三、 新概念每一课除了文章和词汇是我们学习的重点,我们的课后习题当中也有很多值得关注的地方。如二册第十三课的课后难点为名词所有格,其中涉及到时间和金钱的所有格的直接使用。
首先是时间的所有格的例句:“He will arrive in three hours’ time.”由这个例句我们明白时间也可以跟有生命的东西一样有所有格形式,对我们表达一些意思方便很多,如“五分钟的路程”(five minutes’ walk)、“半小时的车程”(half an hour’s drive)、“两小时的飞行”(two hours’ flight)等等,在作文时使用则成为文章的亮点。其次金钱的所有格,有这样的例句:“I want ten pounds’ worth of minced meat.”这个结构比较难记,以前也屡次在大学英语四、六级考试中考到。而以前很多同学若想表达“十英磅的肉”这个概念要么不会,要么表达复杂。所以如果我们能在写作中有机会出现这样的结构,一来恰当表达,二来彰显英文功底。
以上三个例子,大概说明了新概念英语的文笔精细及可借鉴之处。作为一本经典地道的教材,里面还有诸多结构供我们学习并在写作当中借鉴。但是称之为“写作宝典”也是因人而异,关键还需认真细致的学习和体会,才能正确理解并加以实际应用。

历年来,关于英语写作方法的探讨有许多。如何提高学生写作水平是教学过程中的难点,写作也成了考试中的重点。小编根据多年的英语教学摸索,我认为四级英语写作中应重点抓基础,这是培养学生写作兴趣,提高写作水平的基础与前提。
草拟提纲时,要紧紧围绕提示句,尤其是提示句的关键词,尽量多地扩展提示句所提供的信息,从而基本构筑出文章的框架。在扩展提示句时,为了避免段落内容跑题,要从提示句中的关键词出发,围绕关键词开拓思路,发挥联想,记录下所联想到的东西:可以是句子,也可以是词组;可以是英语,也可以是汉语。总之,这个阶段要思维敏捷,动作迅速。我们仍以"Make the Most of School Days"为例。
第一段提示句为“为什么要上学”,围绕上学的目的,可扩展出learn knowledge,学习如何与他人相处,完善自我,成为对社会有用的人等。
第二段,可以扩展出为什么要与老师多接触(老师博学,多识经验丰富),多与老师接触的益处(学到更多方面知识,有利于自己成长的知识和技能)。
第三段,提示句为"在校时只钻书本,或置学习于不顾不好",围绕不走两个极端,可自然而然地想到为什么走两个极端都不好。(若光有书本知识,而缺少处理人际关系的技能以及其它方面的知识和经验,会使书本知识难以充分发挥;若缺少必要的书本知识,也难以胜任很多对知识要求较高的工作。)这样一个三段式的作文提纲就构筑起来了。构思时要带着题目去判断各段意是否能作为该段的主题句,如果可能的话,还要尽量找出其中的关键字眼。
我们再来看一个例题:(98年1月4、6级考题)
Title: Fake Commodity
Outline:
1. 假冒伪劣产品在当今社会为什么如此盛行?
2. 假冒伪劣产品对社会和个人有哪些损害。
3. 你的观点。(四级中没有列出这一段意)
本文中,第一段中的关键字是“为什么、盛行”,第二段中的关键字是“社会、个人、损害”。在看段意构思的过程中可以在这些词下划线以示注意。在列提纲时一定要在题目的指导下把握文章的重心,同时也要考虑段与段之间的过渡。在列提纲之前可以针对段意中的关键词提"WH"问题。不过,有时段意本身就是问句,可直接回答。
本文可能的提纲:
1. cheap comparably, price gap; don't like filing claims; market systems
2. fake appliance, cause fire, lose money; fake medicine
3. realize the worst result, resist

可能看到聪明这个关键词时,你最初写下的往往是clever,再仔细想想,你是不是又想到了smart,deligient好多词,挑个漂亮和合适的用吧。再比如转折,你写了but,这会再想想,是不是又有一堆表示转折的词在你脑里打转呢?挑一个吧。千万别用but.
3.句式:词写下来了,其实你构建这篇作文的建筑材料就到λ了,下步就是要把它们盖成漂亮的作文。先用最普通的陈述句把它们在头脑中过一遍,然后看看都能改成什?句式。能不能把一句陈述句改成问句?能不能用上一个双重否定句?能不能用一个主语从句套定语从句的长句?能不能用一个插入语?等等。把你高中三年的英语积累展示出来。在草稿纸上同样标注。

部分倒装,又称半倒装句,指将谓语的一部分如助动词或情态动词倒装至主语之前,而谓语动词无变化。如果句中的谓语没有助动词或情态动词,则需添加助动词 do, does 或 did,并将其置于主语之前。
(1) 下列否定词及含有否定意义的词组修饰状语时,若置句首,句子的主谓要部分倒装 :

文章的段落,是文章的基本组成部分,一篇好的文章需要精心的段落构思和合理的段落安排,根据不同的题材确定不同的段落写作顺序.四六级作文从结构上看,一般由三部分组成:引言部分;结尾部分,而且每段往往只有一个主题,段中各支持句围绕明确的主题,层层展开论证并服务于主题句。整篇文章也是层层推进,环环相扣,条理分明,完整统一。下面进一步说明每一部分的具体写作技巧与要求:首先,引言部分Introductory Part文章开头很重要,关系到全篇文章,一定要认真考虑好如何写好第一句。一般紧扣主题,开门见山,直接入题。如果已给出段首句,则要考虑如何跟开头连接好.在实际写作中,主要有以下几种开头方式。定义法。即用一句话或几句话来解放说明题中的关键词,给出关键词的定义。多用于给出一简单题目的标题作文。直接切入主题。也就是直截了当地揭示文章的主题或写作原由,如已给出每一段的中文提示,可直接翻译提示中每一段的中心思想,作为开头.
提问法。用疑问句或设问句开头,紧接着提出自己对这个问题的看法或直接点明主题,这种方法如果使用得当,能够激起读者往下读的兴趣,以便找出答案.以故事背景开头,交待时间、地点、人物及背景,然后在这个背景下引出正文.这种方法多用于记叙文,使读者一开始就产生鲜明视觉形象。
引用法.即引用名人名言或谚语等作为文章的开头,指出阅读的内容范围。
其次,主题部分Body Part篇章写作不仅应层次清楚,而且主次也要分明I任何文章都有主体部分,即文章的精华部分。学生在这部分的写作错误五花八门,或者段落内容缺乏统一性,或者句与句之间缺少连贯性,层次混乱,信息的表达经常是跳跃式的想到什么写什么,内容空洞,言之无物,缺乏严密的逻辑性。针对这些错误,写主体段应注意以下几点要求。要紧扣开头段提出的主题思想,突出中心.围绕主题句用一组意思连贯而且完整的句子展开文章,切记各展开句是能起到说明、支持或阐述主题的句子并服务于主题,全文保持统一性,也就是我们通常所说的“切题”。主体段取材必须精练典型,系统而完整。根据内容需要和字数的规定,确定要点的详与略后,选择正确的、典型的、具有说服力的事实、例子、数据和论据等说明解释并扩充主题.主体段要与开头段和结尾段有内在的必然归宿,要顺其自然地过渡,使用好承上启下的连接词或句子,防止突然转折.另外,主体段的句与句之间也要逐步展开,通顺连贯,符合一定的逻辑关系。
最后,结尾部分Ending Part
文章如何结尾关系到写作的成败。好的结尾不仅在形式上起到面龙点睛的效果,而且在内容上读者明其宗旨,解其寓意.一般结尾段的写法有以下几种;
总结式,即在上文所述事实和论据的基础上,对全文进行归纳、总结得出结论,使读者对文章的主题或作者的观点有个更完整而清晰的理解.首尾呼应式,即对引言段所提出的同题给出解决方案,作到首尾呼应,主题突出,结构匀称,使读者对提出的问题有了明确的答案.提问式,这种结尾形式可以引起读者的思考。并起到强调主题的作用.展望式,也就是要提出作者的希望、号召或表示信心和决-C-,使读者受鼓舞.引语式,引用名人名言,谚语俗语做文章的结尾,使文章更具说服力.

很多人确定一个新的写作题目后,打开一个新文档,却发现没有多少写作素材,即想法和事例,可以利用。如果这种窘境也在困扰你,你千万不要觉得这是你独有的问题。想当年,每次写英文作文,都是我盯着电脑屏幕,电脑屏幕盯着我,我们比谁先把对方恶心到不行。但是,你要相信,通过半年到一年,你也可以打造一个出众的写作素材库,任你在行文时调遣。
可我们应该如何有效地积累素材,打造我们的素材库呢?下面我将分享我平时积累素材的习惯。正是这些习惯,让我从一个写作困难户,变成一个言之有物的写作者。
a. 每周,我会去看一些写作题目 (prompts)。我通常是在谷歌里搜索 challenging prompts for writing 这样的关键词。如果你连不上谷歌,你可以用GRE或者SAT的作文题库来练手。这两个题库百度中都有。
我一般会从搜到的题目中挑出我感到无从下手,或者想法不多的题目。比如:在当今社会,人们是否过度地用工作去定义其他人。比如:是否一个人的选择,而非言语,才会揭露那个人的本性。又比如:要想成功,是否就得走进孤独?我一般一周会挑出5~6个题目。
b. 在挑选出题目后,我会开始针对这些题目收集素材。第一种收集方式是主动的。我会去看和这些题目相关的文章,演讲和书籍。通常,我会通过度娘和谷歌,搜索题目相关的关键词,去获取这些文章,演讲和书籍,中文和英文的都可以。在关键词的选择上,我会尝试不同的组合,去获取更多,更好的搜索结果。在获得这些内容后,我会在Evernote当中进行针对题目的归档。
c. 第二种收集方法是靠灵感和缘分。灵感指的是,在散步或其他放松状态下,我可能会突然想到一个关于某个话题的见解,那我会马上在Evernote中敲下这个见解的关键词。如果当时我不便打字,我会用语音在Evernote中记录下这个见解。缘分指的是,在非学习状态下,我有时也会在某条长微博,某个TED Talk,或某部电影电影中看到一些很好的与本周题目相关的想法。同样,我也会立刻记录下这些想法,以防遗忘。
d. 不管是通过哪种方法收集的内容,我都会在归档后进行仔细阅读和深度思考,并努力在以后的写作中应用这些素材,以加强我对这些素材的理解和记忆。
e. 我还会去阅读我找到的 TED Talk 视频下方的评论,博客文章评论区的读者评论,和书籍的书评。 即是说,针对同一个话题,我会去看各方的不同观点,理由,及例证。这样,我的文字才能变得更加客观,我才写出更好的内容。这种批判性阅读,帮助我更好地把不同素材串成一条线,进一步加深我对素材的理解和记忆。
