An resume should include only the last ten years of experience.
Content of your resume should be selected strategically to support your focus and value proposition.
While it is true that readers of your resume will be most interested in your most recent experience, there is often value in including experience further back in your history. Perhaps your early career includes work for well-known, prestigious companies. Perhaps you want to document the full scope of your cross-industry experience, much of which occurred in your early career. Perhaps you believe some valuable networking opportunities may come out of your experience 15 or 20 years ago. Or perhaps your most impressive accomplishments were in a position you held 12 years ago. In any case, it will be apparent to the reader that your executive career did not suddenly materialize ten years ago so there is little harm and many benefits to summarizing this early experience. Of course, this does not mean that you must give equal page weight to your early career. If you feel early dates will be used to screen you out, subtly leave them out of your early career summary. If some early career positions have more strategic relevance than others, give them more emphasis in your summary. Think carefully about the content of your resume. If there is solid reasoning behind your desire to present early experience, than do so.

3.抄录和记忆句子和惯用语时要用单数第一人称,如 i am only pulling your leg

His disciplined outlook towards life and a progressive mindset to the changing times made him one of the greatest figures of not only American, but also world history. Even in today's day and age, lessons one can learn from his life are still very relevant and can be the success mantra for your professional life. We bring to you 10 such lessons from the man's life。
1. Personal Set of Virtues
The joy of success is rendered hollow if the road to it is paved by vicious acts. In the long run, it always helps to have a personal code of conduct and live by them in the strictest way possible. Franklin had his own list of 13 virtues that he tried to emulate in his daily actions and used to keep track of how well he had been doing so. Not only does it make you a better man, but your work or business is also thrown into a good light。
2. Well-maintained Daily Routine
We all know how Benjamin Franklin was skilled in different arts, professions and fields. His achievements in each of them do not arise from a disorderly life. Every hour of his day was carefully planned so as to make the optimum use of time without leaving time for unproductive frivolity. And this is a lesson that every person can do with。
3. Honing People Skills
Franklin was a man with a charming tongue and great diplomatic skills – and these are what make for smooth conversations and transactions. If you read his autobiography, you will come across various occasions when this skill helped him out. In fact, it can even help you turn your enemies around and make them your friends instead – according to Franklin。
4. Say Less, Do More
One of Benjamin Franklin's oft-quoted mantra is “Well done is better than well said”。 And that applies to every trade, not just politics. There has been many spins on this motto – like “A little less conversation, a little more action please”。 All goes down to say that even though you need a silver tongue, it is better to invest your energy in working than flapping your gums about working。
5. Never Procrastinate
Another highly quoted Ben Franklin quote is “Never leave that till tomorrow which you can do today”。 Undoubtedly, one of the best mottos to apply to your work-life is this. Work has a way of piling up and overwhelming you – and if he had given in to procrastination, he would probably not have achieved all that he did。
6. Pros and Cons List
If you have never made a pros and cons list to make an important decision, you should start. Whether it is expanding your business, promoting a certain employee or even taking a mortgage – making such a list helps you arrive at a solution faster. And who should be the one to have first brought this into effect but Franklin himself?
7. Importance of Perseverance
Entrepreneurial success is more than just luck – it is pure hard work, tenacity and never giving up in face of obstacles. And when Benjamin Franklin said, “Diligence is the mother of good luck”, this is what he meant. An unwavering
decision to stick by his work and values led him to become one of the founding fathers of USA – and it can work wonders for everyone。
8. Seizing Opportunities
Benjamin Franklin became a pioneer in demographic studies at a time when it was still new. He was anyway making his personal notes on the population growth in the 1740s – and he took the opportunity of a study in the matter. Centuries later, we still remember him for his discoveries. Being an opportunist and making the most of your chances will help you grow professionally by leaps and bounds。
9. Learning From Mistakes
Another huge lesson that can be learnt from the American scientist's life is not to get disheartened about failure before even trying and to make mistakes without apprehension. Only by trying something new with the risk of failure can you also find the path to success. Franklin did that with a number of his scientific discoveries – and this applies to every entrepreneur as well。
10. Welcoming Change
The last but not the least relevant lesson to learn from Franklin's life is acceptance of change. Franklin brought about a colonial unity at a time when individual colonies functioned independently – and this was an important move that went to establish the geopolitical superpower that is USA now. To stick to the old is to regress – adapt yourself to the changing times to steer yourself towards success。
These are some key attributes that went into building the character of one of America's founding fathers. Taking a leaf out of his book is almost half the battle won for the entrepreneur striving for success。

More college graduates in China are opting for work experience instead of advanced degrees, a survey shows.
The pragmatic approach, coupled with a record number of students graduating from college, is expected to intensify competition in the job market, analysts said.
More than 76 percent of university students said they want to work after earning their degrees this summer, up from 68.5 percent in 2012 and 73.6 percent last year, according to poll results from Zhaopin.com, a major online recruitment agency.
The annual survey also showed that about a fifth of respondents chose to further their education after graduation, while about 3 percent want to start their own businesses.
文中还有一些与求职相关的常用表达,如:job market(就业市场)、degree(学位)、online recruitment(在线招聘)、further education(进修深造)等。

It will take about 10,000 hours (or about five years) to really master their jobs. If you're wondering why colleagues seem so poised and confident, it's partly because they've been doing it longer. young people should learn as much as they can in their first jobs and remember it will take some time to really get good.

Last week I went to Peking University and Tsinghua University where I was invited to deliver lectures on “learning English with passion”. I found out that all those students have something in common; they all have determinations to learn English well . That's thevery reason why I gave lectures at more than ten most prestigious universities with an attempt to help students who want to conquer English within the shortest time.
That’s true, having a good command of English is vitally significant and profound. Here I would like to give all my friends and students some advice for the future learning in terms of the experience I got from being a teacher for many language training schools and being interpreter for government as well as embassies. Being an interpreter is by no means easy, which needs to have a good command of listening, understanding or decoding and speaking. As soon as I hear the original voice from the speaker, meanwhile, I will decode or understand it by dividing the content of the voice into different segments, and use my short-term memory and if possible ,note-taking, to deliver the interpretation in the process of consecutive or simultaneous cases. Now , I would like to tell you how to speak good English.
3-D methods (Dialogue, Discussion and Debate) to improve your eloquence
Dialogue
Having authentic and polished oral English is every learner’s dream, however, many of my students who spent a lot of years, money and efforts to speak this language well but failed to be able to communicate and speak out, the reason to which might be mainly confidence and methods. I notice that many students do well in speaking when conducting a prepared speech or presentation in class. But speaking English fluently is not just about making presentations and giving speeches. It is about expressing your ideas and insight on the most mundane of things around you. I still remember when I first landed on the soil of Beijing 5 years ago; I could not communicate with my friends and even felt uneasy when going out with them because I did not have the confidence to start a conversation with my Mandarin. It’s the same to the English learners who have no courage to start a topic and face an awkward silence after the initial greeting was given because they don't know what to talk about and are not confident of putting something across correctly, thus the conversation comes to end.
The ability to make dialogues is very important in social communication. Topics for casual conversation could include the weather, education, music, current affairs; hobbies, travel, etc. Do not always ask foreigner “what is your name and how is your job” when you want to find one to practice your English with. Before going to English Corner, please read up on your area of interest and try framing sentences expressing your opinions. Talk about it with someone close to you or someone’s English level is higher than yours, so you can check for your language accuracy and fluency. You’d better to grasp regularly used ways of small talk, and you will be able to initiate speaking more confidently. If you can break this barrier and speak out with passion and confidence, you can take your first step into the realm of English speaking and become a public speaker in the future.
Discussion and Debate
I always enlighten my students that your language ability and academic achievements are very imperative and important, but the most important of all, it’s your eloquence to communicate in the personal relationships. Elite may not have eloquence, but an eloquent person must be an elite. So the best way to drill your speaking abilities is to discuss and debate. When I was a junior, I always raised discussions with my classmate in my dorm, questions like “environmental protection, cohabitation, 2008 Olympics, postgraduate exams and so on. After everyone aired his opinions, then we conducted debate to argue, to express ideas to convince the other. And I gradually build up on my own repertoire of conversational topics and start using them whenever I get a chance; subsequently I have good command of English, and won a lot of awards in English speech contest and debate. Hence, it’s also effective for you, my beloved friends or students, to have a try to use your language to discuss and debate.
Other methods
Many students do want to improve their English by all means. It’s self-evident that all of us like taking down notes when we are listening to the lectures given by teachers at school. But it’s not a correct way to speak good language. Can you learn swimming by standing at the edge of the pool and taking down the words spoken by the coach? You have to take the plunge, right? I seldom took notes when I was given lessons, but I would memorize them with my mouth, my mind and my ears. There is just one case I will take notes when I am doing my job as an interpreter for the Beijing municipal government and embassy. I still remember when I was interpreting for the ambassador from the Philippines, at which moment she was delivering the speech about 10 minutes at the Great Wall international conference. Hadn’t I taken the notice from the speaker, I don’t think I would have interpreted for her and won the applause from the officials. It is the same with language. Unless you use the language everyday, you will never know how good you are at it. Ask your friends who are good at English to help. Try to speak it as much as possible, and let them interrupt you whenever you make mistakes and ask them to correct you. Do not feel embarrassed to make mistakes, for that is the only way you will learn. Enjoy losing face and enjoy making mistakes because that is the way how the process of acquiring fluency a language occurs. Everyone may have made a lot of mistakes before getting a good grasp of mother tongue. The only difference now is that you are conscious of the mistakes. So ,do not be afraid of making mistakes.
Attitude that counts the most
If you do want to learn something well, you are supposed to have confidence and passion. I love playing piano , basketball and learning as well as being a teacher, to which I devote my whole interest , confidence and passion no matter how many mistakes I will encounter, how helpless , how hopeless and how far away for me to reach my final goal. I will never stop fighting for the betterment and improvement of myself and to be an all-grounded person equipped with knowledge and clear mindset. And that is why I hope all of you can be confident and passionate for what you have done and what you will be doing.
Finally, I want to say to my students and English lovers. Try to be confident and passionate in the journey of study and life, all you need is a will to learn and the initiative to begin. That done, it is simply a matter of time and effort!
I will always back you up and be with you!

People who are loyal employees tend to earn more, according to the first large-scale study of loyalty and earnings, according to new research.
The difference loyalty made to earnings was equivalent to the additional salary given for having an extra year of experience.
Previous research has found that worker loyalty lowers labour turnover costs and improves customer service, but this study claims it benefits employees too.
Michigan State University researchers surveyed 10,800 employees in former socialist countries that introduced capitalist economies in the 1990s.
‘We know that firms realise financial gain from loyal workers, but we wanted to know if they share those benefits with the workers,’ said Susan Linz, lead author and professor of economics at the University.
‘Among the more than 650 workplaces included in our study the answer is yes, they are sharing the wealth,' she said.
The researchers surveyed employees from 2005 to 2011 in six culturally and economically diverse countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazahkstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Serbia.
Loyalty was measured by workplace seniority; whether the employee would turn down an offer of slightly more money to change jobs; and whether the employee was committed to and engaged with the company.
The findings that worker loyalty was linked to higher earnings came as a surprise to Linz.
Workers were more likely to be loyal if they expected to earn a bonus or learn new skills. In addition, loyalty was higher among employees who expected that doing their job well would result in job security and the feeling that they were accomplishing something worthwhile.
Praise from senior managers, however, was not always positively linked to worker loyalty.
According to the researchers, the findings highlight the importance of managers motivating their workers and knowing which strategies promote loyalty.
‘Managers might have more success by offering the workers a chance to learn new skills, which can contribute to their sense of better job security or desire for more job autonomy, all of which were positively linked to loyalty in our study,’ said Linz.

U.S. researchers claim hiring managers often make poor choices because they tend to make judgements about a person's disposition while ignoring past experience.
University of California, Berkeley’s Hass School of Business claims that often those evaluating us for a job have a great deal of trouble considering situational factors or context.
Associate Professor Don Moore describes this behaviour as an example of the 'correspondence bias'—a social psychology term that describes when people have the tendency to draw inferences about a person's personality based on actions.
‘If you are a hiring manager, ask for more information about other people in the applicant's department and how the person you are considering is better or worse than others in the same situation,’ advised Moore.“
Moore added that applicants should offer more information about their performance.
