在BEC写作中,一般建议采用较为简单的齐头式格式,但是在字数不足的情况下,可以使用缩进式。

My father was working very hard on his project on protecting the environment. I know the project has come to a very important stage. He and his assistants did not take regular rest for three weeks. Last night, my father had a heart attack and was soon sent to the hospital. The doctor said my father was in a very serious situation, and, he might need an operation.
24 hours have passed. Nothing has changed. I have to stay at the hospital. I will let you know if there is any good news.

1. Know your email terms:英语电子邮件发送程序有很多缩写,如果你不知道意思的话,你向老板提出的加薪请求就可能发给了整个办公室!
"Reply to all"表示你的回复将发送给每一个收到原始邮件的人。在邮件的地址栏内,"cc" (carbon copy)部分指的是该邮件发给你指定的人,即“抄送),而"bcc"指你可以悄悄的发送邮件而不让其他的人知道,即”密送“, b代表的是"blind"(掩藏的)。如果有人要你"forward"一封邮件,意思是要你通过转发的功能发送邮件,有时侯简写成"fw."
2. Use the Right Greeting:尽管用"Hey"作为写给朋友的电子邮件开场白没有任何问题,但是最好不要用这种方式给一个潜在的商务伙伴这样写信。另一方面,使用非常正式的传统开场白"Dear Sir" 也已经越来越过时了。最好写成"Dear Mr. / Ms." 后跟那个人的姓氏。同事之间,通常可直呼其名,如"Dear John")。

商务便函的写作格式规范
1、Memo: Memo是Memorandum缩写,因此也可以用Memorandum,此外还有Internal Memorandum和Interoffice Memorandum,其意思都是一样的。
2、To:这一标题后面应写收信人的姓名与职衔,姓名前可以用尊称或不用,如:
To:Mr. John Smith,Sales Manager
3、From:这一标题后应写发信人的姓名与职衔:职衔可根据需要决定写或不写,但姓名前不要用尊称。
4、Date:日期的写法同书信里日期写法的要求完全一样,不要用数字来表示月份。
5、Subject:这一标题后是写事由的,即用一个或几个词汇简单概括便函的内容,以便查阅。事由必须简洁明了,不要用完整的句子,如:

6、Message

商务函电是指在日常的商务往来中用以传递信息、处理商务事宜以及联络和沟通关系的信函、电讯文书。常用的商务信函主要有商洽函、询问函、答复函、请求函、告知函和联系函等。
商务信函一般由:信头、编号和日期、封内地址、称呼、事由、信文、结尾敬语、签署、附件、附言等组成。
信头(Heading):指发信人的姓名(单位名称)、地址和日期,一般写在信纸的右上角。一般公函或商业信函的信纸上都印有单位或公司的名称、地址、电话号码等,因此就只需在信头下面的右边写上写信日期就可以了。
地址:英文地址的写法与中文完全不同,地址的名称按从小到大的顺序:第一行写门牌号码和街名;第二行写县、市、省、州、邮编、国名;然后再写日期。标点符号一般在每一行的末尾都不用,但在每一行的之间,该用的还要用,例如在写日期的时候。 日期的写法,如1997年7月30日,英文为:July 30,1997(最为普遍); July 30th,1997;30th July,1997等。1997不可写成97,以免引起歧义。 信内地址:在一般的社交信中,信内收信人的地址通常省略,但是在公务信函中不能。将收信人的姓名、单位、地址等写在信头日期下方的左角上,要求与对信头的要求一样,不必再写日期。
称呼(Salutation)是写信人对收信人的称呼用语。位置在信内地址下方一、二行的地方,要求从该行的顶格写起,在称呼后面一般用逗号(英国式),也可以用冒号(美国式)。写给公务上的信函用Dear Madam,Dear Sir或Gentleman(Gentlemen)不用专指某个人。注意:Dear纯属公务上往来的客气形式。Gentlemen总是以复数形式出现,前不加Dear,是Dear Sir的复数形式(有时也可Dear Sirs)。写给收信人的信,也可用头衔、职位、职称、学位等再加姓氏或姓氏和名字。例如:Dear Prof. Tim Scales, Dear Dr.John Smith。
事由:在公务信函中,通常在称呼与正文之间,有Re:或Subject:(事由)字样。一般在信纸的中间,也可与“称呼”对齐。还应在底下加横线、加粗等,以引起读信人的注意,使收信人便于在读信之前就可了解信中的主要内容。 正文(Body of the Letter):位置在下面称呼语隔一行,是信的核心部分。因此要求正文层次分明、简单易懂。
结束语:恭维性的,位置在正文下面一到两行的地方,从正文的开头偏右的位置,句末用逗号,比较常用的是truely yours(yours truely)或者faithfully yours、sincerely yours。
签名:此项是必需的,结束语后的一到两行后面,也是在信纸的中间偏右的位置开始写,同时,在结束语的正下方签名下面要用机器打出签名,以便于对方识别。还需要把写信人的头衔、职位等打在名字下面。

The path of least resistance is to get an e-mail security gateway, which is analogous to a firewall for e-mail.Every message going in or out pases through the gateway,allowing security policies to be enforced (where and when messages can be sent),virus checking to be performed,and messages to be signed and encrypted. One drawback of the gateway approach is that it doesn't provide user-based security.For example,the gateway encrypts outbound messages so recipients can verify they came from your company,but recipients can't prove from whom they came.

But, what are the disadvantages?
E-mail can be e-jail. You might spend hours writing and responding to e- mails when you should be hitting5 the books for an upcoming exam. Or, you might be signed up6 for so many daily services, such as horoscopes7, news services, or personals, that your mailbox is so filled up with " junk8 mail" ,that finding the important e-mails through your mailbox might take hours.
If you're a student, time is at a premium9. Create and organize your e-mail folders into important school-related mail, correspondence with friends and family, and a miscellaneous10 folder for jokes, horoscopes, and other news services. Always put the mail into the appropriate folders first, and when you're finished, head for the important school-related folder first. Respond to the most important e-mails first and, if you have time, you can get to the others.
Discourage your friends from forwarding11 those tiresome joke lists, sex quizzes, and chain e-mails. The minute you realize you've got one, delete it immediately so you won't be tempted to read it
