How often do you check your phone? The average person does it 110 times a DAY (and up to every 6 seconds in the evening)
How many times do you check your phone? Twice a day? Once every hour? More often? According to figures collected by a screen lock app, the average user actually checks their phone around 110 times day.
During peak times this equates to once every six or seven seconds, with some users unlocking their devices up to 900 times over the course of a day, which in reality is around 18 hours.
The information was collected by Android app Locket, which monitored how many times its 150,000 users checked their phone over in a day.
The New York-based app pays users in return for showing adverts on their lockscreens.
According to the data, an average user checks their device - which means they activate the screen by pressing the home or power button or they unlock the device - 110 times per day.
In one particular case, a Locket user locked and unlocked their phone up to 900 times.
During peak hours, when users are most active, between 5pm and 8pm, over 75 per cent of people unlock their phones and actively use them.
During off peak hours - between 3am and 5am - this figure drops to 24 per cent but still shows a quarter of people are using their devices in the early hours.
At peak times, the average person checks their device around nice times an hour. Off peak, this drops to four times an hour.
As noted by Buzzfeed's Charlie Warzel, this figure may be higher among Locket users because the app gives people a monetary incentive to unlock their device.
Although he goes on to quote a study by Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers which found the average user actually checks their phone nearer to 150 times per day.
In their annual Internet Trends report carried out in May this year, the researchers narrowed the results down.
It found that people check their phones, on average, 23 times a day for messaging, 22 times for voice calls and 18 times to get the time.#p#副标题#e#

Life is full of small questions: What will I wear to my meeting? What’s for lunch? Subway orcab?
Small questions are important as they facilitate the day to day running of our lives. Theproblem is, most people do not pause to ask themselves the big questions. The real questions. The questions that will change our lives for the better. Often we do not take a moment andthink about what really matters to us and what our contribution to the world is. Our wise oldfriend Socrates said "an unexamined life is not worth living."
Here are five questions that Susie Moore(Life Coach, New York City) asks her coaching clients tohelp them examine their lives. Take a few minutes, a quiet spot and ask these of yourself(warning: the answers might surprise you!):
1. How happy am I overall, today, out of 10?
Take into account all areas of your life when you do this. Whatever your number is, be honestabout it with yourself. Then you can get real about what you can do to increase it.
2. What type of life do I want to lead?
Think about your life 10 years from now. Are you satisfied with your life if it is to continueexactly as it currently is? Are you content with your relationships, work, health? Picture the ideallife you could be living. How is it different? Visualizing helps us understand what it is that wecan be doing differently now.
3. What does success look like to me?
For some people it is becoming an expert in their industry. For others it is taking one year off inevery five to seven to travel. For some it is raising a healthy and tight-knit family. Be clear onwhat it looks like to you and don't be swayed by others visions for themselves. Your life is yourpath to honor and actualize.
4. What brings me joy?
Is it writing, teaching, singing, volunteering, dancing? Whatever it is, make time for it!
5. What can I do in the next two weeks to bring more joy, passion and purpose to mylife?
This is the killer part right here. All of the above is important but it won't impact your life unlessyou take action. Start small. Write one blog. Take one dance class. Perhaps speak to a friend inEurope about a potential meet over the next few months. You know what it is that willgenerate excitement and happiness in your life. Don't put it off!
The answers are within us. We have everything we need to create the lives we want. Gettingclear is the starting point. An old proverb says, "The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago.The second-best time is now." Get busy now sowing the seeds of the life you want to flourishover the coming years.
Why are we here? —Love.

It may sound overly simplistic to themodern human being, since we want to analyze and look for complex answers to questions.
We don't believe that life is simple and the answers to its problems can also be simple: love.
In truth, what are anger, sadness, pain but the soul's desire for love?
If we learn to love ourselves without reservation, and to love the world in the same way, theanswer is simple.
It is impossible, when filled with love, to be aggressive or hate-filled or violent.
When we know that we are beautiful and wonderful, we see the world through those eyes.
We see the beauty and wonder in all things around us.
We don't need to look outside ourselves for the love we seek. It has been there all along.
It is the voice of our self-esteem.
It is our anger saying, Hey this is not right for me. I don't want this in my life any longer.
Self-love is saying no to abuse and betrayal.
It is wanting the very best for yourself and accepting only that in your life.
It is healing the wounds that you have carried all your life.
Self-love is walking away from those who mistreat you, knowing that you deserve better.
It is taking the risk to pursue the career that will bring you joy.
It is listening to your own inner voice: the one that will always guide you to what is best.
It is trusting in yourself completely.
Self-love is following that little voice within that says, Oh I want to do that today.
Sometimes it means ignoring the voice of ‘shoulds' and ‘have-tos'.
It is believing that, when you seek what you desire and fill yourself with joy, you will also bespreading that joy to those around you.
Love will fill you up so you will know there is nothing missing in your life.
Love will lead you to every answer.

I teach economics at unlv three times per week. last monday, at the beginning of class, i cheerfully asked my students how their weekend had been. one young man said that his weekend had not been so good. he had his wisdom teeth removed. the young man then proceeded to ask me why i always seemed to be so cheerful.
His question reminded me of something i’d read somewhere before: "every morning when you get up, you have a choice about how you want to approach life that day," i said. "i choose to be cheerful."
"Let me give you an example," i continued, addressing all sixty students in the class. "in addition to teaching here at unlv, i also teach out at the community college in henderson, 17 miles down the freeway from where i live. one day a few weeks ago i drove those 17 miles to henderson. i exited the freeway and turned onto college drive. i only had to drive another quarter mile down the road to the college. but just then my car died. i tried to start it again, but the engine wouldn’t turn over. so i put my flashers on, grabbed my books, and marched down the road to the college."
"As soon as i got there i called aaa and arranged for a tow truck to meet me at my car after class. the secretary in the provost’s office asked me what has happened. ’this is my lucky day,’ i replied, smiling."
" ’Your car breaks down and today is your lucky day?’ she was puzzled. ’what do you mean?’"
" ’I live 17 miles from here.’ i replied. ’my car could have broken down anywhere along the freeway. it didn’t. instead, it broke down in the perfect place: off the freeway, within walking distance of here. i’m still able to teach my class, and i’ve been able to arrange for the tow truck to meet me after class. if my car was meant to break down today, it couldn’t have been arranged in a more convenient fashion.’"
"The secretary’s eyes opened wide, and then she smiled. i smiled back and headed for class." so ended my story.
I scanned the sixty faces in my economics class at unlv. despite the early hour, no one seemed to be asleep. somehow, my story had touched them. or maybe it wasn’t the story at all. in fact, it had all started with a student’s observation that i was cheerful.

It says 1.1 billion teenagers and young adults are at risk of permanently damaging their hearing by listening to "too much, too loudly".
WHO figures show 43 million people aged 12-35 have hearing loss and the prevalence is increasing.
In that age group, the WHO said, half of people in rich and middle-income countries were exposed to unsafe sound levels from personal audio devices.
Meanwhile 40% were exposed to damaging levels of sound from clubs and bars.
The proportion of US teenagers with hearing loss went from 3.5% in 1994 to 5.3% in 2006.
Dr Etienne Krug, the WHO's director for injury prevention, told the BBC: "What we're trying to do is raise awareness of an issue that is not talked about enough, but has the potential to do a lot of damage that can be easily prevented."
The full report argued: "While it is important to keep the volume down, limiting the use of personal audio devices to less than one hour a day would do much to reduce noise exposure."
The World Health Organization recommends keeping the volume to 60% of the maximum as a good rule of thumb.
For people trying to drown out the noise of flying or train journeys, it says noise-cancelling headphones allow music to be heard clearly at a lower volume.
And the WHO adds that ear plugs should be worn at noisy venues and advises taking "listening breaks" and standing far away from speakers at gigs.
"We do realise this is a bit of a struggle, like alcohol consumption, so many risk factors linked to pleasure are not easy to change, but we have to make people aware," Dr Krug said.
But as well as calling for personal responsibility, the WHO says governments and manufacturers have a responsibility.
It says clubs should provide chill-out rooms and give out free ear plugs, headphone manufacturers should set limits on the volume, and governments need to adopt stricter laws.
Paul Breckell, the chief executive of the charity Action on Hearing Loss, said: 'When listening to loud music, for every three decibel increase in level, to stay safe you should halve your listening time.

You arrive late to work. (Just a few minutes…)
You then get your coffee. And then socialize with others about their weekend.
You check the news. And then surf your inbox for 45 minutes.
Soon, it’s lunch time.
Wait… you just got here.
You might need to ask, “How many hours are you actually working in your day?”
Late to Work, and Late to Start Work
I see it in many office cultures. People straggle in 20–30 minutes late into the workday. They then spend another 30 minutes getting started.
Wasting Time at Work
How much time are you actually working in your workday?
The most productive companies are those that reward results instead of mere activity. They often have loose schedules and allow their workers to work in the ways they work best.
They don’t stay in the office for the sake of clocking time, sending emails, or having meaningless meetings. They allow their workers to get their work done…. and then get out of the office.
However, many workplaces don’t work this way.
Employees are expected to put in long workdays regardless of the workload. And success is often measured by hours instead of actual progress.
But, what is actually getting done during these long workdays?
Most workers waste upwards of 2 hours per day at work
They spend up to a third of their time in email
And even more time in meetings.
This busyness can be a real problem. In fact, many companies mistake busyness with productivity.
Even more worrisome are those that are in denial about wasting time at work.
Get Your Work Done First
If you find yourself constantly complaining you have too much to do, or you never get out of work on time, you need to ask, “How many hours am I actually working in my workday?
You might find that you are spending more time avoiding work than doing it.

For many women, deciding what to wear for work every morning can be a stressful and time-consuming experience.
But Jackie Brown, 49, from Surrey, was so fed up of her daily fashion dilemma that she decided to put an end to the problem - by wearing the same outfit every day for a whole month (washed and ironed regularly, of course).
It may sound boring, but Jackie, an editor at women's magazine Good Housekeeping, found that removing her style dilemma from her daily routine helped to start the day on the right foot and boosted her confidence.
She also discovered that despite being worried that she would look boring, nobody noticed that beneath her accessories she was sporting the same garb daily.
She said: 'I used to leave house flustered and in a rush and it wasn't a good way to start the day. Also, I would often feel that I hadn't quite pulled off the outfit.'
'And I found not having to decide about clothes freed my mind up to think about what I was doing that day.'
The result was that Jackie felt calmer and more in control and as a consequence, she felt those around her reacted more positively to her too.
She said: 'I felt good about myself and felt people treated me with more reverence and smiled at me more. '

We all see and hear about extraordinary people around us and wonder why can’t we be more like them? Sometimes we chuck that notion as absurd and unachievable. I would say not so fast. It’s not the big things that make someone extraordinary. It’s the small things.
Things that over a period of time have the power to radically change your life. They become extraordinary by making a difference in someone's life. Here are some of the things extraordinary people do every day:
My friend’s boss made a huge mistake by tying up with an event management company. The whole purpose of the tie-up was to promote his company but it failed miserably. Instead of defending his idea and carrying on as if nothing happened, he apologised to the team for not including them in the decision making. It’s OK to admit you were wrong. You will not only gain the respect of your team mates, you will also gain credibility.

1.What does success look like to me?
For some people it is becoming an expert in their industry. For others it is taking one year off in every five to seven to travel. For some it is raising a healthy and tight-knit family. Be clear on what it looks like to you and don't be swayed by others visions for themselves. Your life is your path to honor and actualize.
2. What type of life do I want to lead?
Think about your life 10 years from now. Are you satisfied with your life if it is to continue exactly as it currently is? Are you content with your relationships, work, health? Picture the ideal life you could be living. How is it different? Visualizing helps us understand what it is that we can be doing differently now.
3.How happy am I overall, today, out of 10?
Take into account all areas of your life when you do this. Whatever your number is, be honest about it with yourself. Then you can get real about what you can do to increase it.
4. What brings me joy?
Is it writing, teaching, singing, volunteering, dancing? Whatever it is, make time for it!
5. What can I do in the next two weeks to bring more joy, passion and purpose to my life?
This is the killer part right here. All of the above is important but it won't impact your life unless you take action. Start small. Write one blog. Take one dance class. Perhaps speak to a friend in Europe about a potential meet over the next few months. You know what it is that will generate excitement and happiness in your life. Don't put it off!
The answers are within us. We have everything we need to create the lives we want. Getting clear is the starting point. An old proverb says, "The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second-best time is now." Get busy now sowing the seeds of the life you want to flourish over the coming years.

Just 25 minutes of brisk walking a day can add up to sevenyears to your life, according to health experts.
Researchers have found that moderate exercise could halvethe risk of dying from a heart attack for someone in their fiftiesor sixties.

Coronary heart disease is the UK’s single biggest killer, causing one death every seven seconds, and exercise has long been seen as a way to reduce the risks by cutting obesity and diabetes.
A new study presented at the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress suggested thatregular exercise can increase life span.
A group of 69 healthy non-smokers, aged between 30 and 60, who did not take regular exercisewere tested as part of the study at Saarland University in Germany.
Blood tests taken during six months of regular aerobic exercise, high-intensity interval training andstrength training showed that an anti-ageing process had been triggered and helped repair oldDNA.
"This suggests that when people exercise regularly, they may be able to retard the process ofageing,” said Sanjay Sharma, professor of inherited cardiac diseases in sports cardiology at StGeorge’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in London.
"We may never avoid be-coming completely old, but we may delay the time we become old. Wemay look younger when we’re 70 and may live into our nineties.
"Exercise buys you three to seven additional years of life. It is an antidepressant, it improvescognitive function and there is now evidence that it may retard the onset of dementia."
The advice from experts is that everyone should do at least 20 minutes of walking or jogging aday, given the sedentary lifestyles and changes in diet that have contributed to high death ratesfrom heart disease. Exercise can also improve brain functioning.
Exercise brings benefits at whatever age the person starts. People who start exercising at the ageof 70 are less likely to go on to develop a condition that leads to irregular or racing heart rates in10 per cent of people aged over 80.

A man wrote a letter to a small hotel he planned to visit on his vacation: "I would very much like to bring my dog with me. He is well-groomed and very well behaved. Would you be willing to permit me to keep him in my room with me at night?"
An immediate reply came from the hotel owner, who said, "I've been operating this hotel for many years. In all that time, I've never had a dog steal towels, bedclothes, silverware or pictures off the walls. I've never had to evict a dog in the middle of the night for being drunk and disorderly. And I've never had a dog run out on a hotel bill. Yes, indeed, your dog is welcome at my hotel. And, if your dog will vouch for you, you're welcome to stay here, too."

By drinking water first thing in the morning, when you wake up you’ll have to go to the bathroom which will make you want to get up and prevent you from falling back to sleep. However, try to avoid excess amounts of water within the few hours prior to going to sleep as at may cause you to wake up in the middle of the night. I recommend experimenting to find the optimal timing and quantity of water to drink prior to sleeping.
