As the saying goes, roses given, fragrance in hand. In our daily life, we will meet with a lot of trouble.
One possible version
So it is necessary for us to help those who are in trouble. I still remember I helped one of my classmates with his English when we were in the first term of Junior Eight. Li Hua, one of my classmates, was not good at English while I did well. One day, he asked me to help him. So from then on, whenever he had problems, he would ask me, and I was patient to explain them to him. Slowly, his English improved with my help. At the same time, I found my English improved too.
Actually, helping others is helping ourselves.

All of us ought to be able to brace ourselves for thepredictable challenges and setbacks that crop upeveryday. If we expect that life won’t be perfect, we’llbe able to avoid that impulse to quit. But even ifyouare strong enough to persist the obstacle course of lifeand work, sometimes you will encounter an adverseevent that will completely knock you on your back.
Whether it’s a financial loss, the loss of respect of your peers or loved ones, or some othertraumatic event in your life these major setbacks leave you doubting yourself and wondering if thingscan ever changefor the better again.
Adversity happens to all of us, and it happens all the time. Some form of major adversity is eithergoing to be there or it’s lying in wait just around the corner. To ignore adversity is to succumb tothe ultimate self-delusion.
But you must recognize that history is full of examples of men and women who achieved greatnessdespite facing hurdles so steep that easily could have crashed their spirit and left them lying in thedust. Moses was a stutterer, yet he was called on to be the voice of God. Abraham Lincoln overcomesa difficult childhood, depression, the death of two sons, and constant ridicule during the Civil Warto become arguably our greatest president ever. Helen Keller made an impact on the world despitebeing deaf, dumb, and blind from an early age. Franklin Roosevelt had polio.
There are endless examples. These were people who not only looked adversity in the face butlearned valuable lessons about overcoming difficult circumstances and were able to move ahead.

A man, i believe, must have courage and fortitude and a burning sense of justice, too. There are times we should turn the other cheek, but there are likewise times when we must fight the good fight.
by WARD GREENE
When a man is ten, he has a boy's faith in almost everthing: even Santa Claus is a belief he is not quite ready to give up so long as there is a chance the old gentleman may really live and deliver. When a man is twenty, he is closer to compete disillusion and stronger conviction than he will probably ever be in his life.
This is the age of atheists and agnostics; it is also the age of martyrs. Jesus Christ must have been a very young man when he died on the cross; Joan of Arc, they say, was only nineteen as the flames consumed her. It is in the later years---oh, anywhere from thirty to fifty---that a man at some time stands with the tatters of his hopes and dreams fallen from him and asks himself:"What, indeed, do i believe?"
He is very apt, then, to cling to the words of other men who have written for him the shadow signposts that come as anything to poiting pathways he found best in the past and roads he will trust on the way ahead. These words may be mere copybook maxims: that honesty is the best policy, or haste makes waste. They may be alone from Shakespeare---
"To thine own self be true"---or from the bible---"All things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them"---or from the poets" i myself am Heaven and Hell". They may seem a sort of hodgepodge in a man's mind, yet they can make a pattern not inconsistent and not weak.
So if i believe that i myself am Heaven and Hell, that anything less than honesty to myself and others is a boomerang on them and me; if my translation of the Golden Rule is simple acts of kindness and understanding and compassion, practiced in the hope that they will be shown to me, then i have a way of life that is a sort of unselfish selfishness. The bald statement may sound cynical, but if i can follow that way, i shall not be too unhappy here and i may face death with regret but an untroubled face and a stout heart.
But there are blocks and pitfalls in a way of life, even assuming that a man can adhere to it steadfastly despite his own inclinations to deviate. These obstacles are the work other men who adhere to other ways. Hence kindness and compassion are not enough.
A man, i believe, must have courage and fortitude and a burning sense of justice, too. There are times we should turn the other cheek, but there are likewise times when we must fight the good fight. When? Well, if a fellow can't find the answer on the signposts or in his heart, i guess he has just got to pray.

The 92-year-old,petite,well-poised and proud lady, who is fully dressed each morning by eight o’clock, with her hair fashionably coifed and makeup perfectly applied, even though she was legally blind, moved to a nursing home today.
Her husband of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary.
After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, she smiled sweetly when told her room was ready. As she maneuvered her walker to elevator I provided a visual description of her tiny room.
“I love it,”she started with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.
“Mrs.Jones, you haven’t seen the room…just wait.”
“That doesn’t have anything to do with it,”she replied.“Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time.Whether I like my room or not doesn’t depend on how the furniture is arranged…it’s how I arrange my mind.I already decided to love it,It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up.I have a choice;I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work or get out of bed be thankful for the ones that do.Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open I’ll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I’ve stored away…just for this time in my life.”

Inside the Russian Embassy in London a KGB colonelpuffed a cigarette as he read the handwritten notefor the third time. There was no need for the writerto express regret, he though. Correcting thisproblem would be easy. He would do that in amoment. The thought of it caused a grim smile toappear and joy to his heart. But he pushed awaythose thoughts and turned his attention to a framedphotograph on his desk. His wife was beautiful, hetold himself as he remembered the day they weremarried. That was forty-three years ago, and it hadbeen the proudest and happiest day of his life.
What had happened to all that time? Why had it passed so quickly, and why hadn't hespent more of it with her? Why hadn't he held her close and told her more often that he lovedher? He cursed himself as a tear came from the corner of his eye, ran down his cheek, thendropped onto the note. He stiffened and wiped his face with the back of his hand. There was noneed for remorse or regret, he told himself. In a few moments he would join her and at thattime would express his undying love and devotion.
After setting the note ablaze he dropped it into an ashtray and watched it burn. For a timethe names cast moving shadows on the walls of the darkened room, then they nickered anddied out. The colonel dropped the cigarette to the floor and ground it out with his heel, thenclutched the photograph to his breast, removed a pistol from his pocket, placed the barrel inhis mouth and pulled the trigger. In the ashtray a small portion of the note remained. Where ithad been wetted by his tear it had failed to bum, and on that scrap of paper were the words"died yesterday."

吃饭时时常问孩子:“What is this?”

(Getting people to do things)。
Give me a piece of paper.(给我张纸)好象在命令别人,是很不礼貌的。
1、Could you send a copy of this report to Frankfurt for me?
2、Would you mind checking my spelling and punctuation in this
literature here,please?
Could you do sth. for me? Could you lend me your thermos?
Would you mind doing sth.? Would you mind sending a message for me?
Certainly /Sure /I'd love to.
1. I'm afraid I can't , because my spelling is terrible.
2. I'm sorry but my spelling is terrible.
I'm afraid I can't, because...和I'm sorry but...
Do you mind if I open the window for a while?
1May I do sth.?
例如:May I use your telephone?
2Do you think I could do sth.?
例如:Do you think I could send a fax of these proposals to our branch in China.
3Is it all right if I...
例如:Is it all right if I call my office to see if there are any messages
for me?(我可以给办公室打个电话,看看有什么留言给我吗?)
Please do. (请吧) Yes, go ahead.
I'm afraid you can't, because if you open the window the air conditioning doesn't work.
I'm sorry, but we aren't allowed to smoke here.
6、Proper Answers(3)
Congratulations.
I'm glad to hear that.
I'm sorry to hear that.
Hard luck!
Never mind. Better luck next time.
Is that true?
我也这么想: So do I.
I hope so too.
Me too.
You too.
Same to you.
I got that position!
I won the election.
Congratulations.
I'm glad to hear that.
I didn't get that job.
I lost the match.
I'm sorry to hear that.
Hard luck!(真倒霉)
Never mind. Better luck next time.( 没关系,下次交好运。)
Is that true?
I think we should leave now.(我想我们该走了。)
So do I.
I hope so too.
Me too.
I wish we could cooperate again. 你就不妨给同事们送上自己的祝愿,说上一句: Have a good weekend.
You too.
Same to you.

As the saying goes, roses given, fragrance in hand. In our daily life, we will meet with a lot of trouble.
One possible version So it is necessary for us to help those who are in trouble.

Two trains are traveling side by side and at the same speed along parallel tracks. We areseated in one of the trains, and with us we have a special speedometer that measures theirrelative speed. Since the trains are traveling at the same speed, their relative speed is zero; thespeedometer therefore reads "0."
Suddenly the other train seems to start pulling ahead of ours. The speedometer shows areading of 10 miles per hour. The other train has apparently increased its speed. But can we beabsolutely certain of this increase?

If your answer is yes, you are wrong. You are wrong because all that we know is that therelative speed between the two trains changed from 0 mph to 10 mph. Nothing more. Thischange could have been brought about in one of two ways:
The other train increased its speed.
Our train decreased its speed.
There are thus two possible explanations to account for the change in speed, but we don'tknow which one is right. Furthermore, regardless of which explanation we choose, the endresult will be the same: the other train will arrive at the station first. So it makes no differencewhether we say that the other train increased its speed or that our train decreased its speed.
Since both explanations lead to the same result, you can choose either one. Whenever twothings are relative, you can choose either one of them. The converse is also true: wheneveryou have a choice between two things that are equally possible, then the things are relative.
There is no reason, except convenience, for choosing one explanation over the other. Therelative speed between the trains remains the same, 10 mph; and the end result will be thesame.
Now let's suppose that both trains are at the railroad station loading and unloading passengersand baggage. A half-hour passes. As we look at the other train through our window, we seethat our train seems to start moving, smoothly and slowly. For a minute or so, our train seemsto travel at a uniform speed. Our special speedometer shows that the relative speed betweenthe two trains is 20 mph. But as we look out our window, we suddenly see the last coach ofthe other train disappear from sight and notice the motionless station behind it. So we are notmoving after all. The other train has been moving!
This peculiar and often frustrating experience is an effect of relative motion. At the train stationwe cannot tell whether it was our train that changed its speed from 0 mph to 20 mph orwhether it was the other train that changed its speed from 0 mph to 20 mph. Only after theother train pulled out of the station could we see that it, and not our train, was moving.
Now let us again raise the question that was raised at the beginning of this article: can we beabsolutely certain that the other train did indeed increase its speed, and in this case pull outof the station?
If your answer is yes, then you are wrong again. All we can be certain of is that the relativespeed between the two trains changed.
These examples illustrate an important principle in the special theory of relativity. If A appearsto be moving at a steady speed relative to B, we cannot know for sure if it is A that is reallymoving. Perhaps A is standing still, and B is moving. Or perhaps both are moving. According torelativity, there is no experiment that can be devised to solve the problem. As there is no wayof deciding which of the two objects is moving, we can choose either one as the moving object. The reason is that their motion is relative, and relativity, as we have seen, means that we havea choice.
This principle - that if two objects are in uniform motion relative to each other, it isimpossible to decide which one is moving and which one is at rest - applies to all objectsmoving uniformly in a straight line through the universe.
In relativity you'll find that whenever you have a choice among things that are equally possible, you are dealing with relative things. For example, time, which is measured with clocks andwatches, is relative because it can be shown that there is more than one system of time. Allsystems of time are equally possible and you can choose any system you with.

(Write more things down)
(Review regularly)
(Just breathe)
(Write even more things down)
(Don't multitask)
(Mind-meld for memory)
(Chop up for memory)
(Go back to your childhood for memory)
