I just can’t believe you are a police officer,Kay. I remember in high school, you always wanted to be a lawyer.
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen . Welcome to Universal Studio. I’d like to guide you all the way in the amazing park and share the wonderful moments with you.
husband——wife
teacher——student
boss——employee
waiter——customer
doctor——patient
parents——kid
classmates roommates
shop assistant——customer
Check in入住登记check out结账porter搬luggage行李book a room预定房间double room双人房passenger乘客economy class经济舱business class公务舱runway跑道passport护照flight航班stewardess乘务员
20% off,special offer,special price,25% discount,sale
原价:regular price,normal price
增长:10% increase in…1/3 climb in……
下降:23% fall in…5.5% decrease in…

(1)Who are the two speakers?
(2)What is the possible lationship between them?
(3)When did they have the conversation?
(4)Where did the conversation take place?
(5)Why do they have the conversation?
(6)What did they plan to do?
(1)What is the topic of the passage?
(2)Who is the speaker?
(3)What facts did the speaker offer?
(4)What facts did the speaker fail to offer?
Americans have a popular saying“Time is money。”
(A)Husband and wife.
(B)Waiter and customer.
(C)Student and teacher
(D)Receptionist and guest

At what time does the train to Leeds leave?
A. 3:00 B. 3:15 C. 5:00
W: Excuse me, could you tell me when the next train to Manchester is? M: Sure. Well, it's 3 now. The next train to Manchester leaves in 2 hours, but you can take the train to Leeds which leaves in 15 minutes, and then get off at Manchester on the way. It's 3 now, in 2 hours,in 15 minutes.
The train to Manchester leaves in 2 hours。
How much will the man pay for the tickets?
A.$18 B. $24 C. $30
原文:W: Tickets for the movie are $ 6 for adults, half price for children. M: All right, I’d like three tickets for adults and two tickets for children, please. 笔记可简化为:$ 6 A(A代表adult),C代表children,3A+2C或6 A(3)+ half C(2)

Q: What is the woman/man’s attitude towards XXX?
What does the woman/man think of XXX?
How does the woman/man find/like XXX?
I cann’t agree more./ He cann’t be better.
1. 直接型
How does the man feel about goin
to school by bike?(06年全国)
A. Happy B. Tired C. Worried

We keep in touch _____ writing often。
A. with B. of C. on D. by
解析:许多同学根据 keep in touch with(与....。.
(1) We've talked a lot _____ cars. What about trains?
A. of B. with C. about D. in
原因是:若选 of,a lot of cars即为动词 talk 的宾语,但事实上,动词 talk 是不及物动词。
(2) We all regarded the poor old man ____sympathy。
A. as B. with C. of D. by

About twenty of us had been fortunate enough to receive invitations to a film-studio(影棚)to take part in a crowd-scene. Although our "act" would last only for a short time, we could see quite a number of interesting things.
We all stood at the far end of the studio as workmen prepared the scene, setting up trees at the edge of a winding path. Very soon, bright lights were turned on and the big movie-camera was wheeled into position. The director shouted something to the camera operator and then went to speak to the two famous actors nearby. Since it was hot in the studio, it came as a surprise to us to see one of the actors put on a heavy overcoat and start walking along the path. A big fan began blowing tiny white feathers down on him, and soon the trees were covered in "snow". Two more fans were turned on, and a "strong wind" blew through the trees. The picture looked so real that it made us feel cold.
The next scene was a complete contrast (对比). The way it was filmed was quite unusual. Pictures in front taken on an island in the Pacific were shown on a glass screen (幕). An actor and actress stood of the scene so that they looked trick like this, palm trees, sandy beaches, as if they were at the water's edge on an island. By a simple and blue, clear skies had been brought into the studio!

Last night I was driving from Harrisburg to Lewisburg, distance of about eighty miles. It was late. Several times I got stuck behind a slow-moving tuck on a narrow road with a solid white line on my left, and I became increasingly impatient.
At one point along an open road, I came to a crossing with a traffic light. I was alone on the road by now, but as I drove near the light, it turned red and I made a stop. I looked left, right and behind me. Nothing. Not a car, no suggestion of car lamps, but there I sat, waiting for the light to change, the only human being for at least a mile in any direction.
I started wondering why 1 refused to run the light I was not afraid of being caught, because there was clearly no policeman wound. and there certainly would have been no danger in going through it..
Much later that night, the question of why I'd stopped for that light came back to me. I think I stopped because it's part of a contract(契约)we all have with each other. It's not only the law, but it is an agreement we have, and we taut each other to honor it: we don't go through red lights.
Trust is our first inclination(倾向).Doubting others does not seem to be natural to us. The whole construction of our society depends on mutual(相互)trust, not distrust We do what we say we'll do; we show up when we say we'll show up; and we pay when we say we'll pay. We trust each other in these matters, and we're angry or disappointed with the person or organization that breaks the trust we have in them.
I was so proud of myself for stopping for the red light that night.

Grown-ups are often surprised by how well they remember something they learned as children but have never practiced still swim as well as ever ever since. A man when he gets back who has not had a chance to go swimming for years can in the water. He can get on a bicycle after many years and still ride away. We continue to listen to and remind ourselves of words such as "Twinkle, twinkle, little star" and childhood tales such as Cinderella and Goldilocks. We not only learn but overleam
The multinlicatinn tables(乘法口诀表)are an excention to the eeneral rule that we forget rather quickly the things that we learn in school, because they are another of the things we overlearn in childhood.
The law of overleaming explains why cramming(突击学习)for an examination. though it may result in a passing grade, is not a satisfactory way to learn a college course. By cramming, a student may learn the subject well enough to get by on the examination, but he is likely soon to forget almost everything he learned.A little overlearning. on the other hand, is really necessary for one's future development.
