Andrew Holleman, a 12-year-old boy, loved playing in the open land near his home. The land was wet and forested, and made a home for the birds, other animals and many different plants.
It made the perfect place for him to study and get to know the nature. He had seen some red-tailed hawks, red foxes, wood turtles and other animals. He also found special native flowers.

The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league with 32 teams in. How does one choose which team to support? Some people choose the team of their hometown, or where they now live, or the team that their parents or their friends follow.
A boy student from Oklahoma wrote a letter to each of the owners or presidents of the 32 NFL teams. He would see what answers he got, and then choose his team.

Besides containing attractive flowers, trees and other plants that beautify the community, eco-friendly rain gardens are healthy for the environment and the people living and working nearby.

Officials in the Midwestern U. S. town of Joplin, Missouri, say the death from Sundays’ big tornado reaches 116 and that search efforts continue for possible survivors trapped in rubble (碎石). Search and rescue teams are conducting their third sweep through the nearly 10 kilometer – long and one – kilometer wide area of destruction left by the tornado. 由于学生的基础薄弱,甚至对于单词的拼读都无从下手,因此有必要有计划的为学生普及基础的知识,关键是音标,利用音标提高词汇记忆效率,基本词汇掌握的不扎实,对英语的重点句型掌握。为了解决以上的问题,我们每周进行一次基本词汇,重点句型和重点语法的随堂检测,每天课前五分钟采用灵活多样的方法进行听写检查,主要是采用在具体的语境中练习单词拼写的方法,先从最基本的词汇抓起,逐步过渡到句型、小短文的默写检查上。
二、最大限度地提高课堂教学效率,发挥学生的学习积极性和主动性
在上每一节课前,都要先总结前一堂课的教学情况,认真研究教材和教法以及学生的学情,在课堂上最大限度的调动学生的学习积极性和主动性。设计简单一些的问题,逐步引导学生思考,精讲重点词汇、短语及句式,多创设语言情境让学生讨论,对学生进行分组分层教学,设计不同难度的问题与练习,让每个学生都能体验到英语学习的快乐与成功感。
三、以书面表达为主线,提升学生的书面表达能力
书面表达是提高英语学习信心的有效途径,我们在上好阅读课的同时,选取适合学生阅读水平的阅读材料,并且每天进行一次翻译训练,并跟上检查批改。此外每周要开展作文训练,内容根据高考大纲中的24个话题,增加练习形式多样性。
四、加强听力训练,注重听力技巧的`点拨
虽然广东的高考取消了听力考试,但是新增加的15分听说考试对于听力的能力要求很高,必须让学生在高一就进行听力训练,提高整体的能力。们将利用好听力材料,对学生的听力进行强化训练,同时,多指导做题技巧,听力放完后学生把做错的题目汇总,自查并反复阅读听力原文,找出错题原因,然后老师利用合适的时间进行指导,点拨。尤其是在高一最初播放听力的几周时间里,教师要多指导。
五、组织好集体备课,加强相互听课评课,取长补短,共同进步
认真组织好集体备课,最大限度地发挥集体智慧的力量,对教学的重点难点进行讨论,并由主备老师上示范课,其他老师听课并一起评课,对不足之处进行修改,补充,通过相互听课学习,加强教学和指导的针对性,发挥备课组骨干教师的示范作用,同时学习新教师的一些好的教学方法,做到取人之长,补己之短,使整个备课组成员共同成长。
六、换一种独特的方法批改英语作文
我们本学期将一改过去传统的批改作文的方法,采用划出学生作文中正确句子的方法来批改,每次只划出正确的和精彩的句子,并重点标注。这样几乎每个学生都能够写对一个或几个句子,这样做的好处是学生会逐渐由写好几个句子提高到写好大多数句子,也能使学生对写作有成功感。然后我们把学生作文中的好句子进行积累,整合,并印发给学生共同赏析。而不是象原来那样,整篇文章中都是刺眼的错误,学生一看就感觉差距太大,不想继续练了。
总之,在新的学期里,我们高一英语备课组在学校领导的正确领导下,一定群策群力,团结一致,相互学习,共同进步,争取把学生的英语成绩逐步提上去!

b)增强教改意识。要整体提高学生的思想认识和文化品味。要将“教法指导”转为“学法指导”,重视指导学生思维方法的学习,要引导并鼓励学生的创新意识。相对淡化知识系统,强调运用语言的能力和语感能力的培养,重视积累,感悟和熏陶。新教材中的“口语交际”要让学生充分活动,还要采用多种形式拓展学生的英语实践活动,努力提高学生学习英语的兴趣。
2、课内课外阅读。
a)教师指导阅读,教师除了课文中阅读材料,还要指导学生的课外阅读,备课时要对其内容,重难点,方式方法等都要作通盘考虑。另外还要注意“教本”和“课外阅读”的相关延伸,即“课外阅读”和“教本”具体课文的相关衔接。同时,教师还要对学生进行阅读策略方面的指导。
b) 学生单元小结
1.积累词语,对课文涉及的重要词语,要抄写、查字典解释重点记忆。
2.阅读报刊文章写点评;3.每单元写一百字左右与课文内容相关的作文。
c) 课堂交流,课堂内除了individual activity, pair work, group work, discussion,debate这些活动,还有课外的 team work ,duty report,这些材料都以书面形式和口头形式呈现,最后由教师收集作资料保存。
d) 英语学习小组活动,每个小组每学期都有机会在课堂展示对一篇文章或一个专题的理解,质疑,评析,欣赏.这是学生自主学习和“研究性阅读”的尝试。
3、写作。
a) 根据教材的编写体例,把教本上的"写作"内容与学生练笔结合。
b) 本期拟作作文每单元1次。
c)作文批改要讲实效,要调动学生参与,可先由学生自评或互评,再由老师点评,对其得失进行分析总结,并提倡学生写后记或重作,以期不断提高写作能力。
d) 对优秀的作文可进行交流。
4、充分利用电教手段。
即电脑,投影仪,磁带,录像,影碟机等电教手段,适当的时候使用多媒体教室,使英语课堂更加形象,生动活泼。
三、本学期学生情况分析:
7﹑8﹑9班均为普通班。通过近一周来的摸底,已基本知道了学生的大致情况:
1.基础知识欠帐太多,主要指初中基础词汇、短语及语法,但也有大部分成绩较好的学生对上学期的知识依然很陌生。
2.由于基础知识欠缺较多,他们大多数人缺乏学习积极性及主动性。对英语极为恐惧及厌恶。具体表现在:早晚自习不愿复习所学内容,尤其是早自习不愿开口读书。由于单词欠缺量大,绝大部分学生到了句句有生词的程度,其家庭作业只能乱做、乱抄甚至不做。
3.由于基础知识的缺乏,必然导致基本技能的缺乏,听、说、读、写能极差,这样必然会导致课堂教学进度慢,效果差。
4.大多数学生,由于听不懂课,所以课堂纪律就较差,必然导致学生学习效率低下。对于以上这些问题都必须认真对待及改正,应在上高中教材时,加强初中词汇、短语及基本语法的复习,基础相对较好,可以在上高中课文的时候顺便把课文中的涉及初中的相关知识拓展出来,要求学生记忆掌握。

高一要学第三、四模块,供10个单元。每个单元我们会安排5-6个课时。每三周完成两个单元的教学和一次测验,给学生补充一些与课文有关的知识性、趣味性较强的阅读文章。增加学生学习外语的兴趣。并积极为高一段的英语书法比赛,词汇竞赛做好准备,为期中考、期末考做好积极的准备。
四、教学具体措施
1、为了使学生打牢基础不至于出现知识断层,本学期要有计划的把学生上学期学过的但掌握不好的时态、句式、定语从句、以及部分掌握不好的词汇、短语、句型分插于10单元的新课教学中。
2、认真研究新课程标准,尤其与旧大纲不同的地方,清楚哪些内容是新增加的,哪些内容是已经删掉的,哪些内容初中已经学的。3、认真研究新教材,在集体备课的基础上认真备课、上课,认真进行自习辅导和批改作业。
4、单词一直是学生的难点、薄弱点,直接影响学生综合能力的提高,在教学中要重视词汇教学,狠抓单词的记忆与巩固以及对词汇的意义与用法的掌握。使学生掌握科学的单词记忆方法和养成勤查词典的习惯。
5、坚持每周一次作文训练,训练题材、方法力求多样化,并能及时进行讲评。鼓励学生写英文日记,对个别英语特差的学生尽量多批改、多指导。
6、阅读理解能力的培养是高中教学的重点,也是高考的重头戏。在单元教学中专门抽出一节课作为阅读课,材料为课外五篇课外阅读理解,并且有计划的指导学生掌握科学的阅读方法。
7、集体备课是提高教学质量和整体教学水平的有力保证,有利于经验丰富的教师与年轻教师互为补充、共同提高。坚持每周一次的集体备课,集体备课前先确立一名中心发言人,由中心发言人先确定下周所教单元的重点、难点及在高考中的比重及为完成教学内容所用的教法,然后全组人员共同探讨,最后确定下来。中心发言人依次轮流。

学生主体性的发挥, 要在民主, 平等的氛围中体现, 更要在科学, 和谐的教学活动中进行. 课堂教学不仅要处理好老师、学生、教材等关系, 还要尽可能地发挥三者各自的特长, 这就是教学的优化。在课堂教学中, 既要有意识的让学生去感知、理解,又要让学生不断地感悟。
4 拓宽学生的视野
现代外语教学理论认为, 一定量的语言输入是语言输出的基础, 即语言的输出有赖于语言的输入。只有在大量吸收的基础上才能提高表达的技能, 也只有在吸收信息和表达自己意愿的过程中才能培养语言交际的能力。因此,教师根据教材做了很大的扩展, 要求学生尽可能用英语向同学展示你学习后的成果, 你的爱好及缘由等, 使教学更趋向真实。
(二)教学手段
1、教法:运用情景、听说、直观、游戏等方法,展开以教师为主导,以学生为主体的师生、生生多边的交互式活动。
2、学法:自主、合作学习。创设教学情景,使学生好学、会学、乐学。
3、主要以现代化电教手段--多媒体辅助教学,贯穿整个教学过程。以此期望增加直观性和趣味性,加大课堂密度,提高教学效果。
三、说教学程序 (Teaching procedures)
第一部分:听
Step 1:听前:(Pre-listening)
1. 热身(warming up): 以游戏"which is missing"让学生迅速根据图片说出动物的名称,将学生的热情调动起来,并了解了本课的主题与动物用关。
2. 呈现生词,为下一步听扫除障碍。
a. 通过free talk, 引出生词bone, smell.
b. 通过英文释义,图片连线的形式呈现表示动物的4个单词,同时链接了giraffe、tortoise和camel相关的信息,扫除听的过程中的障碍。
Step 2 听中。(while-listening)
1. 听整段对话,完成P66的notes。听前要求学生先阅读notes,让学生了解所缺信息,以便学生听时有重点的听。
2. 对话巩固。学生获取所缺信息后,大声朗读完整的句子,并进行一分钟的快读竞赛。然后通过对话形式进行pair work, 再次进行巩固。同时,在对话中自然呈现remember, believe, words等词,并且使他们在情境中得到了操练。
3. 精听。截取整段对话中的一个段落,提供给学生进行精听。听前先设疑:What's the use of camels' eyelids, do you understand?激发学生听的兴趣,培养学生通过听获得细节信息的能力。
Step 3 听后。(post-listening)
1. 运用所听信息完成书上短文,并熟练朗读。
2. 就短文中的细节展开讨论:
If you see ants on your dinner table,
what will you do?
How can you keep ants away?
并留以足够的时间让学生就这个开放型的问题发表自己不同的见解。
第二部分:说
Step 1 Present.
运用书上的对话先设计了一个听的任务:Listen and do T or F。并且在核对答案之后通过图片巧妙生动的呈现对话中的生词weight。
Step 2 Practise.
1. 开书跟读,训练语音语调。
2. 运用对话中的结构:
Is there anything about...?
Yes, it says that....
That's ...
来谈论本课所出现过的amazing things.这样,既复习了本单元前一阶段的所学的奇闻趣事,又在情境中操练了上述新授句式。
Step 3 Produce.
1. 由书内延伸到书外,为学生提供一些useful expressions,并引导学生借助这些习惯表达谈论自己从电视、广播、因特网上所了解到的各种各样的奇闻趣事,这样,就为学生创造了真实的交际环境,并让学生通过自主的交流,享受了合作学习的乐趣。
2. 在学生小组自由交流并在全班汇报之后,让学生用信的形式描述自己了解的奇闻趣事。这时候,学生在前面的学习步骤中大量输入的基础上在进行笔头的输出,就是轻而易举、水到渠成了。
Step 4 Homework.
1.完成信,并展览。
2. 在"讲英语时间"与学习伙伴交流更多的奇闻趣事。通过这样的作业,旨在培养学生的竞争意识、合作精神及探索精神,为学生的终生学习打下基础。

第一步,快速阅读短文;通读测试题,明确考查点。
先读题,明确题目要求,弄清考点,然后带着问题去读文章,这种方法在英语中称为scanning,就是寻读。快速阅读一遍弄清段落大意,对全文有一个整体了解,阅读时从宏观入手,掌握中心意思,注意哪些用以说明中心意思的主要事实和细节,抓住关键词,弄清作者写此篇文章的目的及意图。如遇到生词,应先跳过,继续通读全文,切忌长时间死扣生词,因为有些生词并不影响对全文的理解,还有一些词可以通过上下文推测含义。
第二步,认真逐题作答。
看完短文后,对整篇短文的内容有了大致的了解,然后马上看后面的问题,带着问题去找答案。如果属于客观信息题,就可直接在短文中找到出处。如果是主观判断题,则应迅速再读全文,仔细分析思考,将近似的答案对照原文反复比较,推敲,选出最佳答案。
第三步,仔细校对所选答案。
做完所有题目后,再读一遍短文,逐一检查所有答案是否有误。如果有拿不定主意的答案,不要随意更改。一定要从原文中找到依据,方可更正。
