对许多人来讲,一份简约明快的英文简历是进入外企的“敲门砖”。那么,如何写好英文简历呢?
首先,语言简练。对于求职者来讲,目的明确、语言简练是其简历行之有效的基础。 如在教育背景中写相关课程,不要为了拼凑篇幅,把所有的课程一股脑儿地都写上,如体育等。这样不很有效,别人也没耐心看。
其次,个人资料部分(PERSONALDATA)。包括求职者的姓名、性别、出生年月等,与中文简历大体一致。第二部分为教育背景(EDUCATION),必须注意的是在英文简历中,求职者受教育的时间排列顺序与中文简历中的时间排列顺序正好相反,也就是说,是从求职者的最高教育层次(学历)写起,至于低至何时,则无一定之规,可根据个人实际情况安排。
第三,社会工作。在时间排列顺序上亦遵循由后至前这一规则,即从当前的工作岗位写起,直至求职者的第一个工作岗位为止。求职者要将所服务单位的名称,自身的职位、技能写清楚。把社会工作细节放在工作经历中,这样会填补工作经验少的缺陷,例如,您在做团支书、学生会主席等社会工作时组织过什么活动,联系过什么事,参与过什么都可以一一罗列。而作为大学生,雇主通常并不指望您在暑期工作期间会有什么惊天动地的成就。当然如果您有就更好了。
第四,所获奖励和作品(PRICE&PUBICATION)。将自己所获奖项及所发表过的作品列举一二,可以从另一方面证实自己的工作能力和取得的成绩。书写上奖学金一项一行。
另外,大多数外企对英语(或其他语种)及计算机水平都有一定的要求,个人的语言水平、程度可在此单列说明。

很多人或许会认为,虽然很多大公司要求递交中英文简历,但是HR大都是中国人,所以只要把中文简历缔造好,英文简历只是走个过场,随便弄一下就可以了。但是外企HR告诉我们其实一名求职者最初发送的中英文简历会跟着他求职的整个过程,或许第一轮把关的是中国人。但是,一旦到后面几轮面试,面试官很可能是以英语为母语的人士,他们跟之前的面试官可能并没有交流,而是完全根据你的简历和你的表现来作判断。这个时候,如果你的英文简历如果出现任何差错的话,那么就会使你的印象大打折扣,这样的后果往往可能变得非常严重。
从英语简历中,企业还可以看出求职者的英语水平。如果简历中有拼写错误,那么用人单位既会质疑求职者的做事的认真程度也会质疑他的英语水平。除了拼写错误,文法错误也是学生经常会犯的毛病,有的错误非常明显,让求职者糟糕的英文水平暴露无疑。

从我们猎头公司的角度看这篇英文简历,感觉还是不错的。可以用这样几个字来概括:条理比较清晰,结构比较完整,用词也比较规范。如果说还有哪些地方需要提高的话,可能在“卖点”上需要花一点功夫。从比较专业的眼光去品判一篇英文简历,我想简单概括以下几点,也可为想写好英文简历的经理人作参考:
1、 英文简历的格式其实很简单,可以根据自己的经验和专业能力搞得新颖一点。但基本上不外乎以下几个要素,如:

Address:
Tel:
E-mail:
Objective:
Summary:
Professional Experience:
Education:
Qualifications &Professional Designations:
Hobbies(If need):
在Professional Experience 之前的要素,描述不用太长篇,高度概括即可。面试人,特别是老外,可从中看出你的英文概括能力(长句的使用)。
2、英文简历中,专业经验、经历(Professional Experience)部分是重头戏。因为这个部分是面试人最感兴趣和关心的,以后即使在面试时,也差不多围绕这个在说话。写简历的人需要花大“手笔”去描述这个部分。怎样才能描述好,要抓住以下几个关键:
工作职责Responsibility
工作业绩Achievement: 如完成了多少指标,如何完成的?管理多少人,利润提高了多少?等等。
在A,B 中,要不厌其烦地用比较数字说明问题,因为猎头或面试人可能对你的专业不很了解,但每一个人都对跳跃的数字感兴趣,并且记得住,如:团队由最初的3人发展到现在的15人,经销商由99年的3家扩展到2001年的23家等等。
不要光写成功经验,也要提及曾经走过的弯路和失败。最好是写一个例子,说明原先某个事件看上去已经失败,但通过你的努力,提高很快,很显著,你也从中学到很多。告诉面试人或写在简历上你是通过哪些办法去改变的。老外往往对这一些很感兴趣,因为走过弯路再成功的人更吸引人,也对他的公司更具有实际操作意义。
这个部分用词也有讲究,能令人兴奋和印象深刻的词很多,如:rebuild up, developed, exceed, participated, enhanced, coordinated, conducted, assisted processed, implemented, management,prepared, consolidated, contributed more than % for, over, revenue, growth, excellent performance,top,strategy, awarded, significant increase, milestones, etc.
3、 Education
Qualification & Professional designation 这两部分,可按照标准的一些格式如实附上,如:

一份出色的Resume,是向外企求职的关键之一。不了解有关的常识和程式,不花费相当的心思来展示,光有纯正娴熟的英文功底,并不能获得单位的青睐。在一大堆错误百出、英文表达能力低劣或平庸,毫无针对性和创造性的Resume中,你的那份若能让人眼睛一亮,成功的机会必将大大增加,下面结合一个具体的例子给出说明和评述。
Balance Sheet基本方法
选择要应聘的工作后,必须看清招聘广告上所列出的每项要求,再将自己的学历、能力与兴趣逐一与之比较,作一张balance sheet.
例如,一则关于marketing management trainee和job requirement是这样写的:
We are looking for a competent person to fill the captioned position:
-University graduate major in Marketing Management. Prepared to develop career in the commercial field
-Outgoing personality
-Able to communicate at different levels
-Good knowledge of PC operations
-Proficiency in written and spoken English/Mandarin
那么你相应地考虑自己的qualification的选择和表述,就可以这样写(与上列各项对应):
-University graduate with major in Marketing
-Having actively participated in Business club's activities and learned accounting and management
-Good in communication with people and like a lot of out door activities, know how to tackle with people from all walks of life
-Skillful in operating Words, Excel, Lotus1-2-3, etc
-Fluent in English and Mandarin
这个方法的好处是可让求职者清楚了解该职位是否适合自己,而本身资料又是否切合要求,而且,明白了各项要求后,就可依据每一点在履历表上重点提出自己在该方面的强项。突出卖点(selling point),将之放在最吸引人的地方,使招聘者一眼可见,有利于present自己。
Work experience工作经验的陈述
工作经验是resume中令招聘者相当感兴趣的一项内容,善加措词是不可忽视的要务。
刚毕业,何来工作经验?其实,读书时的兼职、实习、实践,以至所曾参加的一些课外活动-协助出版学校刊物、举办活动,展览、宣传……都可算是工作经验、不过,表达起来要有针对性地展开,列出那些与所找工作有关的项目重点介绍,必要时更可使用summary的方式,以给招聘者深入的了解。
下面的写法显得相当简陋呆板:
